⚠️ Something happened yesterday that should disturb every believer who is paying attention.

We shared the news that Jim Bakker had passed away at 86. His own wife, Lori Bakker, had publicly announced his death — and major news organizations have since confirmed it.

Yet people immediately pushed back because Google told them it wasn’t true. Think about that.

We have reached a generation where millions of people no longer ask, “What is the truth?” They ask, “What does Google say?”

A search engine, algorithm, AI system, or digital assistant has slowly become the final authority for many people.

If the machine says something is false, they dismiss eyewitness testimony. If the algorithm says something is true, they accept it without question.

And this should make Bible-believing Christians think seriously about where technology is taking humanity.

Revelation 13 describes a coming system in which an image will be given breath and will exercise tremendous influence over the inhabitants of the earth:

“So that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.” — Revelation 13:15

For generations, people wondered how an “image” could speak, communicate, influence populations, and command obedience.

Today, we live in a world of artificial intelligence, digital avatars, talking images, deepfakes, synthetic voices, algorithms, and machines that millions already consult to determine what is true and what is false.

Now imagine where this technology could be tomorrow.

If people are already conditioned to say, “Google says it, therefore I believe it,” what happens when an incredibly persuasive digital image tells the world that the Antichrist is humanity’s savior?

What happens when the image speaks?

What happens when technology, government, commerce, and spiritual deception converge?

Jesus warned us repeatedly: “Take heed that no one deceives you.”

The danger isn’t merely that machines can be wrong.

The deeper danger is that mankind is being conditioned to trust the machine more than they trust discernment, eyewitnesses, Scripture, or even God Himself.

We are watching the infrastructure of deception being built before our eyes.

This is why believers must know the Word, test everything, exercise discernment, and refuse to surrender their minds to algorithms.

I am absolutely disgusted by some of the comments I’m seeing from so-called Christians regarding Jim Bakker following the news of his death.

The man isn’t even cold yet, and people are already dragging his past back through the mud, mocking him, condemning him, and acting as though they personally have been appointed to sit on the throne of judgment.

Yes, Jim Bakker made mistakes.

Yes, there was scandal.

Yes, there was corruption, failure, humiliation, and consequences.

Nobody is denying any of that.

But since when did the Gospel teach us that mercy, grace, restoration, and forgiveness are only available to people whose past we approve of?

Have we forgotten David?

Have we forgotten Peter?

Have we forgotten Paul?

Have we forgotten that the entire message of the Gospel is that broken, sinful people can repent, be forgiven, and be restored by the blood of Jesus Christ?

Some Christians seem to believe in grace until someone they dislike needs it.

They believe in forgiveness until the person’s sins are public.

They preach restoration until the person’s failure offended them personally.

Jesus said:

“Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” — Luke 6:37

There is a difference between calling sin what it is and spending decades refusing to allow someone to ever move beyond what they did.

A man can fail miserably and still repent.

A man can destroy his reputation and still find mercy.

A man can suffer consequences for his actions and still experience the redeeming grace of God.

And here is something every believer should remember:

You and I are going to need the same mercy when we stand before God.

None of us will enter eternity because we successfully kept our failures hidden better than somebody else.

We will stand solely because of the mercy and grace of Jesus Christ.

So perhaps instead of celebrating someone’s failures, rehearsing scandals, and tearing apart a man who can no longer defend himself, this would be a good time for every one of us to examine our own hearts.

“For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.” — James 2:13

If the blood of Jesus is powerful enough to cleanse us, then it is powerful enough to cleanse the people whose past makes us uncomfortable too.

Grace isn’t grace if it is only extended to the people we approve of.

Pray for his family.

Show some compassion.

And remember: one day, every one of us will desperately want mercy rather than condemnation! #jimbakker #restoration #grace #gospel
