የ2016 ዓ.ም የ12ኛ ክፍል ብሔራዊ መልቀቂያ ፈተና መቼ እንደሚሰጥ በርካቶች ጥያቄ አድርሰውናል።
የ12ኛ ክፍል ብሔራዊ ፈተና በሰኔ ወር እንደሚሰጥ የትምህርት ምዘናና ፈተናዎች አገልግሎት መግለፁ ይታወቃል።
በዚህ ዓመት የሚሰጠውን የ12ኛ ክፍል ሀገር አቀፍ ፈተና ለመውሰድ ከ670 ሺህ በላይ ተማሪዎች ምዝገባ እንዳደረጉ መገለፁም ይታወሳል፡፡
ለሦስተኛ ጊዜ በዩኒቨርሲቲዎች ውስጥ የሚሰጠው ብሔራዊ ፈተናው፤ ዘንድሮ ለተፈጥሮ ሳይንስ እና ለማኅበራዊ ሳይንስ የትምህርት መስኮች ለእያንዳንዳቸው በስድስት የትምህርት አይነቶች እንዲሰጥ ትምህርት ሚኒስቴር መወሰኑ አይዘነጋም፡፡

ቀሪዎቹ ደግሞ በተለመደው አግባብ ፈተናቸውን እንደሚወስዱ ገልጸዋል።
