Before announcing the next topic I almost forgot to post something from the previous time πŸ˜… Thanks for coming guys! I enjoyed the discussion and I hope you did too :)

P. S. Finally took a pic of the chameleon that lives inside the House of Balance. I hope the guy also enjoyed looking at us 🦎

This Sunday, we’ll be discussing what suits you more: tradition or progress, or a mix of the two?

Tradition is about familiar routines, habits, and the comfort of the known. Progress is about change, new ideas, adapting, and stepping outside your comfort zone. So, which side do you relate to more?

Join us on Sunday at 12:00 and share your thoughts with us :)

Please sign up and pay in advance, before Saturday, 10 AM πŸ™‚

The image of the last Sunday has already blurred in my mind, but what I remember clearly is the great conversation we had (as always!)

Thanks for coming you all! And let's get together next time!

πŸ‚ The days are getting shorter, the air is becoming cooler, and the streets are about to turn gold, red, and orange. Autumn is arriving β€” and it’s the perfect topiс for our next discussion.

We’ll talk about everything this season brings: rainy-day moods, warm sweaters, favourite comfort food, seasonal traditions, autumn trips, school memories, Halloween, and the small things that make this time of year feel special. Do you love long walks under colourful trees, or would you rather stay inside with a blanket, a book, and a cup of tea? What is autumn like in your hometown? Is it a season of inspiration, change, or maybe a little nostalgia?

Come and share your thoughts! 🍁

πŸ•š Guys, please take a note, I've changed our starting time to 11 AM this Sunday.

I think The House of Balance may get a little crowded by 1 PM: they've invited an artist who will draw your portrait on a coffee cup for an extra price (+350β‚½, from 1 till 4 PM). If you're interested, feel free to participate too 🍁

See you on Sunday, 11 AM :)

What can fallen leaves teach us? That is one of the questions I had to remove after AI assistant tried to help me with the question list for the previous topic. Although fallen leaves don't have the ability to teach humans, we can still learn something from each other - and I hope that's what we did during the last time! Thanks for the nice conversation and autumn mood, guys πŸ‚

You are what you eat πŸ₯— That's why it's not a surprise we talk about food and drinks during almost every meeting (although, the AI is still the most frequent topic, in my opinion 🫒).

Food is much more than fuel: it can reflect our culture, lifestyle, habits, memories, and even personality. Do you prefer home-cooked meals or takeaway? Can healthy food be delicious? Is it possible to eat well on a busy schedule? And what food could you never give up?

Let's discuss it this Sunday at 11 AM!

P. S. As I announced to some of you earlier, we are increasing the price by 100 rub. starting this Sunday.

P. P. S. Please take a note, we are gathering at 11 AM this time - The House of Balance is holding the portrait drawing event one more time right after we finish.

We sometimes try to bring something to our lives to feel complete - with a new piece of clothing, a gadget, nice furniture, or a flight ticket promising the experience of a lifetime. But what would we want to exclude? A world without mosquitoes? Awkward small talk? Monday mornings? Grammar exceptions? Or perhaps something bigger: comparison, fear of failure, or maybe air pollution?

This Sunday we’ll imagine different versions of β€œA World Without…” - funny, maybe slightly unrealistic, thoughtful, and maybe better than the one we know. Come share what you would remove, what you would surprisingly miss, and how the world would change without it 🌍

P. S. Also guys, thanks for coming last Sunday ☺️There are no videos from the previous time, but I'll make sure we have something to remember the next meeting!

πŸ”Έ A world without: questions

🌿 Just a reminder: questions serve mostly as conversation starters, it's not necessary to follow them one by one πŸ˜‰

🌍 Part I

1. If you woke up in a world without coffee or tea, how would you survive your mornings?
2. Which everyday expense would you be glad not to have?
3. What would happen to the fashion industry in a world without the color black?
4. Imagine a world without alarm clocks. Do you think people would be more or less productive?
5. How would you pack for a vacation in a world without weather forecasts? What kind of weather would you delete from the calendar?
6. In a world without elevators, how would our cities and architecture look different?
7. Imagine a world without plastic packaging. What would grocery stores look like?
8. Could you live without music? Why or why not?
9. What phrase do people say too often that you would ban?
10. What household chore would you remove from life forever?

πŸ’ Part II

11. Imagine a world without names. People are identified purely by their current profession or main personality trait. What would your name be today?
12. If there were a world without the feeling of physical pain, would it be a blessing or a dangerous curse?
13. Imagine a world without professional sports. What would replace them as a major global pastime?
14. If we lived in a world without privacy, where everyone’s thoughts or actions were transparent, could true intimacy exist?
15. If we lived in a world without money, what do you think would become the new measure of success and social status?
16. In a world without art or music, what would happen to human emotional expression?
17. Imagine a world without any cultural or geographical borders. Would human civilization be more united, or would we lose our identity?
18. In a world without fast food, what would be your go-to quick meal?
19. Imagine a world without plastic packaging. What would grocery stores look like?
20. If we lived in a world without refrigerators, how would your eating and shopping habits change?

Thank you guys for such a great start to last Sunday! A world without our speaking club would definitely be a much more boring place to live in (I hope you agree 😏)

I will announce the next topic later today ☺️

πŸ€” What makes you, you?

We all have lived through experiences that shaped us - the people we met, the places we lived, the choices we made, the things we failed at, and the moments that changed the way we see the world.

So why not share some of those stories this Sunday? Let's get to know each other better :)

I personally think it's the perfect topic to join us for the first time and meet new people. As for regulars, I noticed we learn something new about each other every time we meet, so come and learn, people!

πŸ„ Guys, we have a question in the comment section. Any ideas? And does anybody want to gather on an English speaking mushroom hunting session next week? 😏

I was just wondering is there any chance that some club members in Nizhny Novgorod enjoys going mushroom picking, and if so, where?

Hey there! πŸ‘‹ Thank you guys for coming last Sunday! Although we had a problem with the background noise and had to move to a Skuratov nearby, we still had a nice chat! β˜•οΈ

⏳ What does time mean to you?

We all have the same 24 hours in a day β€” but we definitely don't experience time in the same way.

Some people are always early. Others are always β€œfive minutes away.” Some plan everything weeks ahead, while others prefer to see what happens. And different cultures can have very different ideas about punctuality, deadlines, and free time.

But what is your experience and how does it match with people around you? Let's try to understand it this Sunday 😌
