It was such a cozy meeting and a fruitful conversation! Thank you everyone for coming and participating 🫢
The main conclusion from the "existential" part of our discussion:
There can be no meaning in life, that's for sure. But the best part is that you can choose whatever you want to fill it with and make a statement out of it ✨

One non-obvious tip for your #speaking practice today!
Use IELTS sample speaking tasks to boost your speech rate and fluency⚑️
I realised how helpful it is during my own IELTS preparation. At first, it took me quite some time to concentrate and gather my thoughts for many tasks, but by the end of my preparation month, before the exam, I evidently became faster. And these changes were noticeable in my everyday speech as well!
Even if you're not gonna take the exam, it might be cool to use it's structure and resources for your own benefit πŸ˜‰

✨bonus: it's really convenient to use Chat GPT voice mode for this kind of tasks, you can ask it to be your examiner and stick to IELTS criteria
βž• record your answers! This is the best way to use all the perks of such practice. It's extremely helpful (and embarrassing at first, but it'll get better I promise) to listen to yourself 🎧

Hi there β˜€οΈ
A quick personal update! I started working as an English teacher in primary school πŸŽ‰

That's a completely new experience and tbh that takes up so much time. But I'm slowly getting on track and planning to come back with some new recs really soon :)

And look! I've already reached that "Well, I didn't find the exact beautiful study materials that I needed so I made them myself" point. Looks kinda cute, ha?!

This one goes to my new occupation and my fucked up YouTube viewing history 🫑
Use kids English songs to remember some basic stuff (days of the week, letter names, etc) easier! I promise you, it'll be stuck in your head forever (tested πŸ₯²)

πŸŽƒIt's tiiiime!!
My Halloween #series rec for you is Wednesday πŸ–€
Not only is it vibey, witty, and gorgeously dark, but also full of Wednesday's aristocratic vocabulary 🌹

✨bonus: random Wednesday's Halloweenish #vocabulary:
β€’ psychic - a person who has strange mental powers
β€’ premonition - a feeling that something, especially something unpleasant, is going to happen
β€’ fiendish - extremely cruel or unpleasant
β€’ coffin - a long box in which the body of a dead person is buried or burned

U know guys, the more peculiar, sophisticated and expressive English works I come across, the more I realise that things like that are often quite dark in nature and created by deeply depressed artists πŸ“–
So I decided to dedicate a couple of further recs to my favourite depressive yet deep, brilliant, amusing, at times sarcastic pieces of work and linguistic phenomena πŸ–€πŸ–€

This one goes out to all the ghosts

Lemme start with this insane music project and the album that I've been listening to on repeat for a year and that is so meditative, complicated, insightful, melancholic and elegantly crazy🌟
It's Headache. And I must admit that before I googled it to tell u guys about the artist, it would never occur to me that this voice was AI 😳
But honestly, this doesn't make it less attractive to me, the way it sounds perfectly matches the lyrics written by a real person (genius)
There are so many layers, so many shades, so many details that every time, even when it's the thousandth one, I hear something new, I notice more beauty and go deeper and deeper into this intricate universe of words πŸ“‡ I love it, absolutely love it πŸ–€

✨Cringe story time!✨
So there's this new boy in my first-grade class who just came back from New Zealand, where he lived with his family for six months.
Today we played a game where the children had to pick different colours of clothes. When it was his turn and he said something I got so confused that I had to ask him to repeat it like five times (on top of that he speaks really quietly). After a while I realised that he meant the colour which in Russian would be "Π±ΠΈΡ€ΡŽΠ·ΠΎΠ²Ρ‹ΠΉ", and right away I got super embarrassed because I had never used and, therefore, never remembered its name in English.
Even after my lessons it took me quite some time to figure out and recall which exact word he said, cause there are two options 🫠
And that's how my first-grader basically taught me (the one with C1) the word cyan 🀑🐳
