上星期港口大爆炸後，黎巴嫩首都貝魯特持續出現反政府示威，並於本週一迫使內閣總辭。當地議會則於昨日通過總統早前宣布的緊急狀態，並給予軍方極大權力平定局勢。
於緊急狀態下，軍方有權宣布宵禁、禁止集會及對有可能危害國家安全的媒體進行審查。平民於緊急狀態下亦可能被送往軍事法庭受審。是次緊急狀態有效期至八月二十一日，唯國會可以投票延長。

1. Chinese tanks enter Novosibirsk. The AST54 public reports on VKontakte stated a train with military trucks, off-road vehicles, as well as tanks with distinctive signs of armed forces of the PRC applied to them, was seen on the railway tracks near the Burginsky bridge.
2. Chinese Sina news publishes propaganda stating that the Belarusian president claims, “The BBC is inciting riots in Belarus. Western media is insulting us again and again!”
3. Police are using live funds on protestors in Brest. The interior ministry says officers came under attack as protests erupted for a third night.
4. Pompeo says US may impose sanctions and suspendoil deliveries for Belarus amid election crackdown. This follows the Belarus states heavy-handed response to opposition protestors disputing the results of the election.
5. Call for action on Belarus by the presidents of Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, and Estonia urging Belarus to be a stable, democratic, independent, and prosperous country.
6. Medical workers took to the streets to provide assistance to victims buying bandages and medicines with their own money. Doctors were detained despite the fact that they were all in white coats so they could be seen from afar.
7. EU ambassadors to Belarus laid flowers at the Pushkinskaya metro station in Minsk where a protestor was killed on the second night of clashes. The police still refuse to give his name.
8. Large enterprises and factories across the country declared a nationwide strike.
9. “Cosmonauts” in uniform of the Belrusian OMON police beat passing cars, stop and pull drivers out from behind the wheel, and beat women and old people.
10. Foreign troops are involved in punitive operations against the Belarusian people. Russia and China are directly involved.
