Amazing EIS Fashion Show from Primary students whereby, students showcase some clothing designed out of recycled materials
There was much excitement amongst the children in the EYFS class on Friday, 2nd June; their parents had been invited to a coffee morning and they were going to stage a performance for them! How wonderful! How exciting!
Parents watched, enthralled, as their children showed how effectively how they now can communicate through song and dance! The children’s performance, highlighting the theme “creativity”, started with the “Good Morning” song. “Creatures Great and Small” featured the insects EYFS children have been learning about in their lessons: butterflies, ladybugs and bumblebees. Jaymin ably played the lead part in “The Music Man”, but it was the finale that made a lasting impression! “Dance Monkey”, a song the children chose themselves, was performed with passion and precision! As the performance came to a close, parents were heard to shout “encore”! It was clear that they were very proud of their children!
EIS Year 5 had a whale of a time at the Moskvarium on Wednesday. The tour guide, Ms Svetlana, spoke beautiful English and very eloquently told children about so many interesting marine and fresh water creatures. Students were amazed to see an arapaima, native to the Amazon River, one of the biggest fresh water fishes in the world, but for many the fat seals from Lake Baikal were their favourites! 🐠🐡🦀🦑🐳
EIS year 6’s had an extremely amazing and educational overnight trip to Ethnomir. It was so good that children really wished that they had at least one more day to stay. Children did lots of great activities including Ebru Art – which is a traditional Turkish form of painting that is described as “painting on water”; racked our brains doing a quest on China called the “Legend of the Chinese Dragon”; had a great time at the EthnoFarm looking and petting farm animals; and learnt some Siberian Games around a huge bonfire. They also had a great time walking around viewing and learning about all the different cultures of the world. The most memorable ones included the Indian House, the Mongolian Yurt and the Buddhist Temple from Myanmar. Children also had the pleasure of indulging in authentic Mexican and Indian Cuisine, which was a real treat. All in all, it was truly an unforgettable trip and a wonderful way to celebrate the end of Primary for the Year 6 students!
Sports Day was another marvelous success and highlight of the year. The day started from 8.40 for the students and lasted the entirety of the day, whether it was sports related quizzes or artwork, or making hug House flags and performing physical activities. The beauty of it is that it caters for so many different skills and tastes. From 1pm, the parents came in and supported the amazing event. Parents were able to join in and compete with each other or partner up with their own child. It was so much fun! Congratulations to the Eagles for winning the day's trophy. 🏅🏅🏅
