The Children and Youth Ministry Department of the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane gave training for the leaders of the Adola Genale Synod, and for the coordinators of the children and youth ministries from the synod parishes and the congregations based on the Wholistic Ministry Package of Children and Youth of the EECMY entitled "Wholistic Growth and Transformation." The training was given by the Director of the church's children and youth ministry department, Brother Wondmagegn Udessa. After the training, he gave teachings on family and child development to all believers. In addition to this, the President of the Synod, Rev. Gelo Gololcha, also gave a training and delivered a message to the leaders of the children and youth ministry of the synod. Beside the training, different books that will help for the holistic children and youth ministry and overall church service are distributed to the trainers through the EECMY Yemisrach Dimts Communication Service , and the module of the training, 'Wholistic Ministry Package of Children and Youth', is distributed to them. The trainees will apply the training they have received to their respective congregations.

The Children and Youth Ministry Department of the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane gave training for the South Synod (Dilla) coordinators of the children and youth ministries from the synod parishes and the congregations based on the Wholistic Ministry Package of Children and Youth of the EECMY entitled "Wholistic Growth and Transformation." The training was given by the Director of the church's children and youth ministry department, Brother Wondmagegn Udessa. After the training, he gave teachings on family and child development to all believers @Dilla Congregation. The President of the Synod, Rev. Wolde Ayele delivered a message to the leaders of the children and youth ministry of the synod. Beside the training, different books that will help for the holistic children and youth ministry and overall church service are distributed to the trainers through the EECMY Yemisrach Dimts Communication Service , and the module of the training, 'Wholistic Ministry Package of Children and Youth', is distributed to them. At the conclusion of the training, a discussion was held on the overall ministries of children and youth of the church. The trainees will apply the training they have received to their respective congregations.

The Department of Children and Youth Ministry of EECMY is working on a comprehensive package for children and youth to develop children and youth in a holistic manner, which is called  ‘Wholistic Ministry Package of Children and Youth’. A workshop/training focused on entrepreneurship, one of the focus areas of the package, was conducted at Wabe Batu Synod. The workshop/training was organized by the Department of Children and Youth Ministry and the Lutheran World Federation.
The training was given by the director of the department, Wondmagegn Udessa; and the President of the Synod, Rev. Galeto Deko, attended the training, mentioned the importance and value of the training; and conveyed a message to the youth to be productive by converting this important opportunity and training into action and to transform themselves economically. At the training, the coordinator of the church's youth ministry department, Mr. Gadisa Regasa, presented a message from the Word of God.

The workshop/training will be conducted in two rounds, and in the first round, the youth have been taught how and when to start work/business, and the benefits of work based on Biblical truth and entrepreneurship science. In order to help the youth by being an example, by inviting entrepreneurs who have reached a large level in their local area, a panel discussion was held to help the youth gain experience and knowledge. By encouraging the participation of women in the training, participants and panelists were made to participate in an equal 50%-50% ratio.

Finally, the participants had a joint discussion and expressed their decision to enter the world of work based on the training they received. On the second round of the workshop, evaluation will be conducted, and additional training will be given based on the gaps where support is needed; the youth will be given additional training so that they can empower and teach others beyond empowering themselves economically. This training and workshop on empowering youth economically will be continued in other synods.

ኢትዮጵያ በቅርቡ ከአውሮፓ ህብረት ጋራ የፈረመችውን ስምምነት በመቃወም የተዘጋጀ የፊርማ ማሰባሰቢያ ቅጽ
* ⚠️ አስቸኳይ⚠️ *
ባሳለፍነው ህዳር 5 ቀን 2016 ዓም ኢትዮጵያን ጨምሮ ከአፍሪካ ከካሪቢያንና ከፓሲፊክ የተውጣጡ ሀገራት ለሚቀጥሉት 20 ዓመታት የሚቆይ የንግድና ኢኮኖሚ ትብብር ስምምነትን ከአውሮፓ ህብረት ጋራ ሳሞዋ በምትባል ሀገር በፈረሙ ወቅት አገራችን ኢትዮጵያም ይህንኑ ስምምነት ተቀማጭነታቸው ብራሰልስ በሆኑ አምባሳደV አማካኝነት በፊርማዋ አጽድቃለች፡፡ ይህ አደገኛ ይዘቶች ያሏቸውን አንቀጾች የያዘው ስምምነት በህዝብ ተወካዮች ምክር ቤት ፀድቆ ከሚቀጥለው ጥር ወር ጀምሮ ወደ ትግበራ እንደሚገባ ይጠበቃል፡፡

ይህ የትብብር ስምምነት በውሥጡ የያዛቸውን አስራ ሁለት ዋና ዋና አደገኛ ይዘቶችን ጠቅልለው የሚይዙ የተወሰኑ ሀሳቦች ለመጥቀስ ያህል ፡-

ሀ) የሀገር ሉዓላዊነትን የሚጥሱ አንቀጾች በግልጽ መቀመጣቸው፣

ለ) ግብረሰዶማዊነት፣ የጾታ መቀየርና፣¸ውርጃና ሁሉን አቀፍ የወሲብ ትምህርትን የመሳሰሉ እኩይ አጀንዳዎች በሰብዓዊ መብት ሽፋንና በሌሎች አሳሳች ሀረጎች ተሰውረው የገቡበት መሆኑ፣

ሐ) ግብረሰዶማዊነት በርካታ ቀውሶች ማለትም በአካል፣ በሥነልቦናና በማህበራዊ ህይወት ላይ የሚያስከትልና ለሀገር ደህንነትም አደጋ መሆኑ፣

መ) የወላጆችን መብት የሚጥስና የኢትዮጵያዊ ቤተሰብ እሴቶችን የሚንድ መሆኑ፣

ሠ) የሀገራችንን ሀይማኖት፣ባህልና እሴቶች የሚንዱ ጸያፍ ልምምዶችን እንድንቀበል በሰብዓዊ መብት ሽፋንና በእርዳታ ስም የምንገደድበትና ለዘመናዊ ባርነት ወይንም ቅኝ አገዛዝ ታልፈን የምንሰጥበት መሆኑ፣

በአጠቃላይ ይህ አዲስ የአጋርነት ስምምነት ልዩ ትኩረት ሊሰጣቸው የሚገቡና ትውልድንና ብሎም ሀገርን እጅግ የሚጎዱ በርካታ አንቀጾች የተካተቱበት መሆኑ ለሀገራችን ህዝብ ዕድገትን ሳይሆን ውድቀትንና ከፍተኛ የሞራል ዝቅጠትን የሚያስከትል መሆኑን በሚገባ ተረድተናል፡፡

በተጨማሪም ከተጠበቀው ውጭ ሀገራችን ይህንን ስምምነት በመፈረJ የተጋረጠብንን እጅግ አሳሳቢ አደጋ ለመቀልበስ አስፈላጊ የሆኑ ሰላማዊና ህጋዊ መንገዶችን ሁሉ በመጠቀም መንግስት ትኩረትን እንዲሰጠው ማድረግ ጊዜ የማይሰጠው ጉዳይ መሆኑን ተገንዝበናል፡፡

በመሆኑም ይህ የመንግስት ውሳኔ እንደገና ተጠንቶ ውሳኔው እንዲቀለበስ ማለትም ስምምነቱ አስፈላጊው ሁሉ ማስተካከያ እስኪደረግበት ድረስ ወይንም እጅግ አደገኛ የሆኑት አንቀጾች ተነቅሰው ወጥተው የማንቀበላቸው መሆናችንን በይፋ ማሳወቅ (Submission of an Interpretive Declaration) እስከምንችል ድረስ የምንወዳት ሐገራችን ኢትዮጵያ ፊርማዋን በመሰረዝ ከስምምነቱ ራሷን እንድታገልል በሐገራችን ከፍተኛው የሥልጣን አካል ለሆነው ለተከበረው የህዝብ ተወካዮች ምክር ቤትና ለሐገሪቱ መሪ ለክቡር ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ዶ/ር አብይ አህመድ በታላቅ አክብሮት እጅግ አስቸኳይ ጥሪን እናደርጋለን፡፡

የዚህንም ስምምነት አደገኛ አንቀጾችንና በኤክስፐርቶች የተሰጠውን ትንታኔ የያዘ ዶኩመንት በአባሪነት ያቀረብን መሆናችንንም በታላቅ አክብሮት እንገልጻለን፡፡

Alongside the LWF leadership course at Makumira University, Arusha, Tanzania, the EECMY, Director of the Department of Children and Youth Ministry, Mr. WondmagegnUdess, had productive consultation and experience sharing sessions with the National Coordinator of Youth Services of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania, Mr. Anania Ndondole, and other coordinators of the ministry. The Evangelical Lutheran of Church of Tanzanian was started by missionaries from Germany at the end of the 19th century and was officially established in 1963. The church today has more than 8 million members, and its headquarters are located in Arusha, Tanzania.

Young people and future generations are environmental stewards of the future. Many are also leaders and subject matter experts today. The Climate Champions Team, in support of the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions, are committed to strengthening youth agency in climate action. Elevating and empowering youth voices will help drive systemic change and the Climate Champions will continue to position this vital stakeholder group at the heart of our work.
The Climate Champions Team is now looking for its fourth cohort of ambitious and stubbornly optimistic Youth Fellows. The programme creates a pathway for young professionals to work within the team supporting the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions for COP28 and COP29 – H.E Razan Al Mubarak and Ms. Nigar Arpadarai – to drive real world momentum into the UN Climate Change negotiations.

As part of the Youth Fellowship programme, you will help mobilise climate action amongst non-State actors to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement, in close collaboration with the UNFCCC, the Marrakech Partnership and the COP Presidencies.

This is a paid fellowship programme
Time commitment: The selected fellows will work closely with the respective sector leads during this fellowship and will be required to commit 16 hours per week.
Duration: The fellowship will run for seven months from June to December 2024
Who should apply
Are you an early- or mid-career professional, aged over 18, but aged 30 or under 30 as of 1st January 2024? Do you have a record of engagement or expertise in the thematic areas hosting the fellowship, and a history of climate or sustainability advocacy? Are you familiar with multi-stakeholder organising? If so, we strongly encourage you to apply!
Eligibility criteria

30 or under 30 years of age as on 1 January 2024 (minimum age to apply is 18 years)

Minimum five years of full-time work or volunteering experience, either in one of the fellowship sectors, climate leadership or organising

Ability to commit minimum 16 hours a week to the fellowship

Strong communication skills

Self-motivated and willingness to be flexible (you will be working with teams across different time zones)

Adequate network relevant to sector-specific or climate-related work

Proficient English language skills

Your own laptop and reliable internet connectivity

A commitment to the values of the Climate Champions Team to raise non-State actor commitments to the global goals of the Paris Agreement

Today, June 5, is World Environment Day 2024. World Environment Day (WED) is a powerful reminder of the importance of our natural environment and the urgent need to protect it. By raising awareness, encouraging action, and fostering global collaboration, it plays a vital role in promoting a sustainable and resilient future.

God has clearly placed humans in a position of responsibility over the creation. (1) Genesis 2:15 says “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”(2) We recognize that all created things belong to God (3) and that we are accountable to Him as stewards of the creation. God commissions us to rule over the creation in a way that sustains, protects, and enhances His works so that all creation may fulfill the purposes God intended for it. We must manage the environment not simply for our own benefit but for God′s glory.
We worship God the Creator more fully as we see His glory in His creation and as we participate in His work of sustaining and restoring proper relationships within the creation.

If we are careless in our stewardship of God’s creation, we not only destroy that which He has made for His glory, but we also deny others the opportunity to see with wonder and awe God’s creation.

The slogan of Environment Day 2024 is “Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration.” As we celebrate World Environment Day 2024 (WED 2024), let’s become a part of #GenerationRestoration and resolve to heal our planet by making responsible choices!

A two-round workshop/training focused on entrepreneurship (job creation) titled "Youth Economic Empowerment" organized by the Department of Children and Youth Ministry of the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus was given in Wabe Batu Synod.
The first round of workshops/training was given in February 2016 and focused on how young people can start their own work/business, and how to change the mindset of young people from being a job keeper to being an entrepreneur. The second and last round of workshop/training held in July. It focuses on the topic of how young people can effectively manage the work/business they have started.

The training was given by the director of the department, Wondmagegn Udessa; and the President of the Synod, Rev. Galeto Deko, attended the training, mentioned the importance and value of the training; and conveyed a message to the youth to be productive by converting this important opportunity and training into action and to transform themselves economically. At the training, the coordinator of the church's youth ministry section, Mr. Gadisa Regasa, presented a message from the Word of God.
After taking the first round of training/workshop, 75% of young people stated that they engaged in different private jobs. They made an exchange of experience by sharing what they learned with others: the challenge they faced in the start-up process and how they overcame the challenges.
  Finally, the trainees who participated in the training/workshop were given certificates of participation, and based on the training they received, they will return to their respective areas and teach other young people.
By encouraging the participation of women in the training, participants and panelists were made to participate in an equal 50%-50% ratio.
This training and workshop on empowering youth economically will be continued in other synods.

የኢ/ወ/ቤ/ክ/መካነ ኢየሱስ: በአዶላ ገናሌ ሲኖዶስ: በኦዶ ሻኪሶ ሰበካ በሰበካው ሴንተር ሻኪሶ ከተማ ከሁለት አመት በፊት በ2022እኤአ የመሰረት ድንጋይ የተቀመጠው ሁለንተናዊ የልጆች እና የወጣቶች አገልግሎት ቤተመጻህፍት ግንባታው ተጀምሮ በመልካም ሂደት ላይ ይገኛል:: የግንባታውንም ሂደት የኢ/ወ/ቤ/ክ/መካነ ኢየሱስ: የልጆች እና ወጣቶች አገልግሎት መምሪያ ዳይሬክተር ወንድማገኝ ኡዴሳ ከሲኖዶሱ ፕረዝደንት ቄስ ጌሎ ጎሎልቻ :  ከሲኖዶሱ የልጆች እና ወጣቶች አገልግሎት መምሪያ ዳይሬክተር ወ/ዊ ሽብሩ ጩራ እና የሰበካው መሪዎች ጋር በመሆን ጎብኝተዋል:: የግንባታውም ሂደት በ2025እኤአ ለማጠናቀቅ ታቅዶ እየተሰራበት መሆኑን የሰበካው ሥራ መሪ ቄስ ማቴዎስ ጅሎ ገልጸዋል::

የሁለንተናዊ የልጆች እና የወጣቶች አገልግሎት ቤተመጻህፍት አላማው ቤተክርስቲያኒቱ በልጆች እና ወጣቶች አገልግሎት በኩል አቅዳ እየሰራችበት ባለው መሰረት:
👉ልጆች እና ወጣቶችን በሁለንተናዊ ዕድገት ለማስታጠቅ የሚረዳ ፣የትምህርት እና የስልጠና ማዕከል እንዲሆን:
👉ልጆች እና ወጣቶች አዕምሯቸው በእውቀት ታንጾ: በጥበብ እንዲያድጉ የሚረዳ የማንበብያ ስፍራ (ሁለንተናዊ አገልግሎት የሚሰጥ ቤተ መጻህፍት)  ማደራጀት
👉ለልጆቾ እና ወጣቶች የሚሆን የተለያዬ መጫወቻ ያለው የመዝናኛ ስፍራ ማደራጀት:
👉የልጆችን እና የወጣቶችን አገልግሎት በኢኮኖሚ ለማጠናከር የሚረዳ ሁለገብ አገልግሎት እንዲሰጥ ታስቦ ይሰራል...
👉ለቀጣይ ትውልድ መልካም አሻራን ማስቀመጥ...

የቤተክርስቲያኒቱ የልጆች እና ወጣቶች አገልግሎት መምሪያ ዳይሬክተር ወንድማገኝ ከጉብኝቱ በኋላ: የተሰራው ስራ አበረታች መሆኑን እና ለሌሎች ሲኖዶሶች: ሰበኮች እና ማ/ምዕመናናት መልካም ምሳሌ መሆኑን ገልጸው የሲኖዶሱን መልካም ስራ ካበረታቱ በኋላ: ሌሎችም ራዕዩን ለማሳካት የተቻላቸውን ድጋፍ እንዲያደርጉ ጥሪ አድርገዋል::

ማደግህ በነገር ሁሉ ይገለጥ እንደሚለው የእግዚአብሔር ቃል (1ጢሞ. 4፡15) ወጣቶቻችን በሁለንተዊ መልኩ ታንጸው እንዲያድጉ በአዳማ ቦሌ መካነ ኢየሱስ ማ/ም ለወጣቶች እና ለወላጆች ትምህርት ተሰጥቷል:: በፕሮግራሙ ለመሪዎች እና አገልጋዮች የመሪነት ስልጠና ተሰጥቷል::
