Dr. Fidon Mwombeki paid a solidarity and pastoral visit to EECMY leaders in Addis Ababa, Ethiopa. The AACC leaders are welcomed by Rev. Dr. Yonas Yigezu (EECMY President), and Rev. Dr. Tariku Tolosa (EECMY V/President) and other leaders of the Church.
All Africa conference of churches is a fellowship of 500 member churches around the African continent. It is a continental ecumenical body that accounts for over 140 million Christians across the continent.
The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY) is a member of AACC.

The 12th General Assembly of the All-African Churches Youth Conference was held in Abuja, Nigeria. Different presentations were presented at this youth Pre-Assembly. The Director of the EECMY Children and Youth Ministry Department, Wondmagegn Udessa, who participated in the youth Pre-Assembly, presented an article on the topic "The Role of Youth in Peace and Nation Building".

Why Youth Ministry Is Important...
#AACC General Assembly,
Investing in today’s youth is necessary in growing the body of Christ. Teaching young people in the church to grow in their relationship with the Lord can prepare them to serve Christ in all they do. As a result, this nurtures the congregation and allows the church to flourish.
Serving young people cannot only prepare them to become future leaders, but also allow them to contribute to the church and beyond. This is seen many times in the Bible, as God often used young people to do great things.
Because of God’s heart for young people, it is important to recognize their value in today’s church and support them in a holistic way.

'የሀገራችሁ ወጣቶች ለምን በህገወጥ መልኩ ይሰደዳሉ? ለምን በበረሃ ይሞታሉ...?'

ይሄን ጥያቄ የጠየቁኝ ቄስ ካኖን ኢማኑኤል ይባላሉ: የዛምቢያ አብያተ ክርስቲያናት ካውንስል ዋና ጸሐፊ ናቸው። በናይጄሪያ አቡጃ በተካሄደው የመላው አፍሪካ አብያተ ክርስቲያናት ኮንፈረንስ በሕገወጥ ስደትና በሚያስከትለው ጉዳት ላይ በተደረገው አውደ ጥናት ላይ ተገናኘን።
በአውደ ጥናቱ ላይ ኢትዮጵያዊ መሆኔን ካወቁ በኋላ ቀረቡኝና፣ ‘ግን ለምን የሀገራችሁ ወጣቶች በብዛት ከሀገር ይወጣሉ፣ ለምን ይሰደዳሉ፣ ለምን በበረሃ መሞትን መረጡ?... ችግሩ ምንድን ነው? ባለፈው አመት በኮንቴነር ወደ ደቡብ አፍሪካ በህገ ወጥ ስደት ጉዞ ላይ ከነበሩ ወጣቶች መካከል 27ቱ ዛምቢያ ውስጥ በመንገድ ላይ ነበር ሞተው ሬሳቸው የተጣለው። ዜናው በመላ ሀገሪቱ ትልቅ ሀዘንን የፈጠረ ሲሆን በወቅቱም በመገናኛ ብዙሃን አጀንዳ ሆኖ ነበር። በተመሳሳይ መልኩ ባለፈው አመት በማላዊ የ30 ኢትዮጵያውያን የጅምላ መቃብር ተገኘ። ከዚያ በፊት ከ2 አመት በፊትም እንዲሁ በሞዛምቢክ በኮንቴነር ውስጥ 64 ወጣቶች ሞተው መገኘታቸውን ስንሰማ በጣም አዝነን ነበር።
ግን ይህ ሁሉ የሆነው ለምንድነው? ትውልዱ በኮንቴይነር ውስጥ ተጭኖ ታፍኖ እስኪሰደድ፣ ያለ ምግብና መጠጥ፣ ያለ አየር... ተስፋ ቆርጦ እንዲሞት ያስገደደው ምክንያት ምንድን ነው? ምን እየተፈጠረ ነው...?›› ብለው በሀዘን ስሜት ጠየቁኝ። እኔም እያዘንኩኝ እንዲህ ብዬ መለስኩላቸው፡- “ወጣቶቻችን ራዕይ አላቸው፣ ሰርተው መለወጥ ይፈልጋሉ፣ ማደግ ይፈልጋሉ፣ ስኬታማ መሆን ይፈልጋሉ። ለቤተሰቦቻቸው እና ለሀገራቸው በረከት መሆን ይፈልጋሉ .... ግን በሀገሪቱ ውስጥ ያለው ሁኔታ ብዙም ምቹ አይደለም ፣ ስራ አጥነቱ በዛ ፣ ተሯሩጠው የራሳቸውን ለመጀመርም ያስባሉ : ያለው ሁኔታ ግን አልፈቀደላቸውም ፣ ቢሮክራሲውና ሙስናው እንቅፋት ይሆንባቸዋል ፣ የሰላም እና ጸጥታ ሁኔታው ደግሞ ይበልጥ ነገሮችን አስቸጋሪ አደረገ፣ ይህ ሁሉ ተደምሮ ነው እንግድህ ትውልዱን ተስፋ አስቆርጦ በህገ ወጥ መልኩ እንዲሰደድ ያደረገው... ሲል መለስኩለት።
ቀጥለውም ‹ይህ በጣም ያሳዝናል: እናንተ ለእኛ ወንድሞቻችን ናችሁ፤ እናም ወንድሞቻችንና እህቶቻችን በንደዚህ አይነት አሳዛኝ ሁኔታ በረሃ ላይ ሲሞቱ፣ ሬሳቸውም በምድረ በዳ ሲጣል ማየት በጣም ያሳዝናል። ነገር ግን እንዳልከው በአገራችሁ ያለው ሁኔታ አስቸጋሪ ቢሆንም፣ ሁኔታዎቹ ምቹ ባይሆኑም ሕገወጥ ስደትን መምረጥ መፍትሔ ሊሆን አይገባም። ወጣቶች በማይመች ሁኔታ ውስጥም ቢሆን ተስፋ ሳይቆርጡ ራሳቸውን ለመለወጥ መሞከር አለባቸው: ወደ ሌላ ሀገር ለመሰደድ ቢያስቡ እንኳ በህጋዊ መንገድ እንጂ ህገ-ወጥ ስደት ምርጫ ውስጥ ፈጽሞ መግባት የለባቸውም:: በሕገወጥ ስደት ውስጥ የሚጠቀሙት ህገወጥ ደላላዎች ብቻ ናቸው። ይህ መለወጥ አለበት: በዚህ መቀጠል የለበትም::
በአገሪቱ ውስጥ ለወጣቶች ዕድል መፍጠር አስፈላጊ ነው: ወጣቶች ህገ ወጥ ስደትን እንዳይመርጡ ህጋዊ ስደትን ማመቻቸት እና በህገወጥ የሰው አዘዋዋሪዎች ላይ ህጋዊ እርምጃ መውሰድ ያስፈልጋል። ይሄ ሁሉ ብዙ ስራ ይጠይቃልና በርቱ..." ብለው ምክራቸውን ቋጩ። እዚህ ላይ ብዙ የሚጨምረው ነገር የለኝም: ወጣቱ በሀገሬ ሰርቼ መለወጥ እችላለሁ የሚል አስተሳሰብ እንዲይዝ በትውልዱ አእምሮ ላይ መስራት ያስፈልጋል። በአስተሳሰብ ላይ ከተሰራ በኃላ በተቻለ መጠን ለወጣቱ ሁኔታዎችን ማመቻቸት እና ድጋፍ መስጠት ከሁሉም ይጠበቃል:... እና ቤተሰቦች: መንግስታት: መንግስታዊ ያልሆኑ ድርጅቶች እና የግል ድርጅቶች... ሁሉም ሚናቸውን መጫወት አለባቸው::
በወጣቶች ከመፍረድ ይልቅ ወጣቶችን ማዳመጥና መረዳት፣ ለስኬታቸው ሁኔታዎችን ማመቻቸትና አስፈላጊውን ድጋፍ ማድረግ ላይ ከመቼውም ጊዜ በበለጠ መልኩ ትኩረት ሊሰጥ እና ሊሰራ ይገባል እላለሁ። እግዚአብሔር ለሀገራችን ሰላምን: ለወጣቶቻችን ተስፈ እና ስኬትን ይስጥ። ጤና ይስጥልኝ!

በአውደ ጥናቱ ላይ ኢትዮጵያዊ መሆኔን ካወቁ በኋላ ቀረቡኝና፣ ‘ግን ለምን የሀገራችሁ ወጣቶች በብዛት ከሀገር ይወጣሉ፣ ለምን ይሰደዳሉ፣ ለምን በበረሃ መሞትን መረጡ?... ችግሩ ምንድን ነው? ባለፈው አመት በኮንቴነር ወደ ደቡብ አፍሪካ በህገ ወጥ ስደት ጉዞ ላይ ከነበሩ ወጣቶች መካከል 27ቱ ዛምቢያ ውስጥ በመንገድ ላይ ነበር ሞተው ሬሳቸው የተጣለው። ዜናው በመላ ሀገሪቱ ትልቅ ሀዘንን የፈጠረ ሲሆን በወቅቱም በመገናኛ ብዙሃን አጀንዳ ሆኖ ነበር። በተመሳሳይ መልኩ ባለፈው አመት በማላዊ የ30 ኢትዮጵያውያን የጅምላ መቃብር ተገኘ። ከዚያ በፊት ከ2 አመት በፊትም እንዲሁ በሞዛምቢክ በኮንቴነር ውስጥ 64 ወጣቶች ሞተው መገኘታቸውን ስንሰማ በጣም አዝነን ነበር።
ግን ይህ ሁሉ የሆነው ለምንድነው? ትውልዱ በኮንቴይነር ውስጥ ተጭኖ ታፍኖ እስኪሰደድ፣ ያለ ምግብና መጠጥ፣ ያለ አየር... ተስፋ ቆርጦ እንዲሞት ያስገደደው ምክንያት ምንድን ነው? ምን እየተፈጠረ ነው...?›› ብለው በሀዘን ስሜት ጠየቁኝ። እኔም እያዘንኩኝ እንዲህ ብዬ መለስኩላቸው፡- “ወጣቶቻችን ራዕይ አላቸው፣ ሰርተው መለወጥ ይፈልጋሉ፣ ማደግ ይፈልጋሉ፣ ስኬታማ መሆን ይፈልጋሉ። ለቤተሰቦቻቸው እና ለሀገራቸው በረከት መሆን ይፈልጋሉ .... ግን በሀገሪቱ ውስጥ ያለው ሁኔታ ብዙም ምቹ አይደለም ፣ ስራ አጥነቱ በዛ ፣ ተሯሩጠው የራሳቸውን ለመጀመርም ያስባሉ : ያለው ሁኔታ ግን አልፈቀደላቸውም ፣ ቢሮክራሲውና ሙስናው እንቅፋት ይሆንባቸዋል ፣ የሰላም እና ጸጥታ ሁኔታው ደግሞ ይበልጥ ነገሮችን አስቸጋሪ አደረገ፣ ይህ ሁሉ ተደምሮ ነው እንግድህ ትውልዱን ተስፋ አስቆርጦ በህገ ወጥ መልኩ እንዲሰደድ ያደረገው... ሲል መለስኩለት።
ቀጥለውም ‹ይህ በጣም ያሳዝናል: እናንተ ለእኛ ወንድሞቻችን ናችሁ፤ እናም ወንድሞቻችንና እህቶቻችን በንደዚህ አይነት አሳዛኝ ሁኔታ በረሃ ላይ ሲሞቱ፣ ሬሳቸውም በምድረ በዳ ሲጣል ማየት በጣም ያሳዝናል። ነገር ግን እንዳልከው በአገራችሁ ያለው ሁኔታ አስቸጋሪ ቢሆንም፣ ሁኔታዎቹ ምቹ ባይሆኑም ሕገወጥ ስደትን መምረጥ መፍትሔ ሊሆን አይገባም። ወጣቶች በማይመች ሁኔታ ውስጥም ቢሆን ተስፋ ሳይቆርጡ ራሳቸውን ለመለወጥ መሞከር አለባቸው: ወደ ሌላ ሀገር ለመሰደድ ቢያስቡ እንኳ በህጋዊ መንገድ እንጂ ህገ-ወጥ ስደት ምርጫ ውስጥ ፈጽሞ መግባት የለባቸውም:: በሕገወጥ ስደት ውስጥ የሚጠቀሙት ህገወጥ ደላላዎች ብቻ ናቸው። ይህ መለወጥ አለበት: በዚህ መቀጠል የለበትም::
በአገሪቱ ውስጥ ለወጣቶች ዕድል መፍጠር አስፈላጊ ነው: ወጣቶች ህገ ወጥ ስደትን እንዳይመርጡ ህጋዊ ስደትን ማመቻቸት እና በህገወጥ የሰው አዘዋዋሪዎች ላይ ህጋዊ እርምጃ መውሰድ ያስፈልጋል። ይሄ ሁሉ ብዙ ስራ ይጠይቃልና በርቱ..." ብለው ምክራቸውን ቋጩ። እዚህ ላይ ብዙ የሚጨምረው ነገር የለኝም: ወጣቱ በሀገሬ ሰርቼ መለወጥ እችላለሁ የሚል አስተሳሰብ እንዲይዝ በትውልዱ አእምሮ ላይ መስራት ያስፈልጋል። በአስተሳሰብ ላይ ከተሰራ በኃላ በተቻለ መጠን ለወጣቱ ሁኔታዎችን ማመቻቸት እና ድጋፍ መስጠት ከሁሉም ይጠበቃል:... እና ቤተሰቦች: መንግስታት: መንግስታዊ ያልሆኑ ድርጅቶች እና የግል ድርጅቶች... ሁሉም ሚናቸውን መጫወት አለባቸው::
በወጣቶች ከመፍረድ ይልቅ ወጣቶችን ማዳመጥና መረዳት፣ ለስኬታቸው ሁኔታዎችን ማመቻቸትና አስፈላጊውን ድጋፍ ማድረግ ላይ ከመቼውም ጊዜ በበለጠ መልኩ ትኩረት ሊሰጥ እና ሊሰራ ይገባል እላለሁ። እግዚአብሔር ለሀገራችን ሰላምን: ለወጣቶቻችን ተስፈ እና ስኬትን ይስጥ። ጤና ይስጥልኝ!

The Governance Committee Meeting of the AACC

The meeting of the Governing Committee of the All African Conference of Churches was held from May 07-09, 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya. On the side of the meeting, there was a discussion with the stakeholders about the 'All African Youth Congress' to be held in Addis Ababa: Ethiopia in 2025.
The AACC Governing Committee was elected at the 12th All African Conference of Churches General Assembly(2024-2028) held in Abuja, Nigeria, and: it ended by receiving work orientations: by hearing various program reports and passing different decisions: and finally, by issuing a statement regarding the recent flood disaster in Kenya and the neighboring East: as well as by stating a call to resolve conflicts and wars in some African countries peacefully.

The Governance Committee Meeting of the AACC

The meeting of the Governing Committee of the All African Conference of Churches was held from May 07-09, 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya. On the side of the meeting, there was a discussion with the stakeholders about the 'All African Youth Congress' to be held in Addis Ababa: Ethiopia in 2025.
The AACC Governing Committee was elected at the 12th All African Conference of Churches General Assembly(2024-2028) held in Abuja, Nigeria, and: it ended by receiving work orientations: by hearing various program reports and passing different decisions: and finally, by issuing a statement regarding the recent flood disaster in Kenya and the neighboring East: as well as by stating a call to resolve conflicts and wars in some African countries peacefully.

Ethiopia has been chosen to host the second All Africa Youth Congress.
The Youth Congress will bring together over 500 African youth from all African countries and the diaspora in Addis Ababa, the headquarter of the African Union.
The second AAYC will take place during the 2025 African Youth Month ,November 2025, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The All Africa Youth Congress (AAYC) is an initiative of the All Africa Conference of Churches’ (AACC) to facilitate a continental Youth Campaign on African Patriotism. The first All Africa Youth Congress was held in Accra, Ghana, in Nov. 2022.
The congress, will provide a platform for young people to connect, exhibit creative ideas, and provide an opportunity for African youth to be seen and heard, to be assured that their contribution matters.

Today, June 5, is World Environment Day 2024. World Environment Day (WED) is a powerful reminder of the importance of our natural environment and the urgent need to protect it. By raising awareness, encouraging action, and fostering global collaboration, it plays a vital role in promoting a sustainable and resilient future.
God has clearly placed humans in a position of responsibility over the creation. (1) Genesis 2:15 says “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”(2) We recognize that all created things belong to God (3) and that we are accountable to Him as stewards of the creation. God commissions us to rule over the creation in a way that sustains, protects, and enhances His works so that all creation may fulfill the purposes God intended for it. We must manage the environment not simply for our own benefit but for God′s glory.
We worship God the Creator more fully as we see His glory in His creation and as we participate in His work of sustaining and restoring proper relationships within the creation.
If we are careless in our stewardship of God’s creation, we not only destroy that which He has made for His glory, but we also deny others the opportunity to see with wonder and awe God’s creation.
The slogan of Environment Day 2024 is “Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration.” As we celebrate World Environment Day 2024 (WED 2024), let’s become a part of #GenerationRestoration and resolve to heal our planet by making responsible choices!
