Separate the process of creation from improving. You can't write and edit, or sculpt and polish, or make and analyze at the same time. If you do, the editor stops the creator. While you invent, don't select. While you sketch, don't inspect. While you write the first draft, don't reflect. At the start the creator mind must be unleashed from judgment

Browsing is the opposite of β€œsearch.” Search is precise, browsing is imprecise.

When you search, you find what you were looking for; when you browse, you find what you were not looking for ~ Tara Henley

Don't be on your deathbed someday, having squandered your one chance at life, full of regret because you pursued little distractions instead of big dreams.

I often encourage my little ones to get their hands dirty and explore as many things as possible.  This could be touching stuff in nature or having different type of material and exploration stations at home.  With that said, there will be areas or situations [EX Glass decorations, Christmas ornaments, fresh food packaging...] where it’s not safe or appropriate to touch so naturally, I would ask them to not touch them.  They will nod and agree but the next thing you know, they are touching it.  Like many of my previous videos, the key is not to focus on what they CAN’T do but rather on what they CAN do. So instead, I use this 1 finger technique protocol πŸ”…Allow them to touch delicate things with just one/two fingers, they will be more open to it πŸ”…Take time to practice and model it, they might need a few tries πŸ”…Set the boundaries if needed, β€œI see you having a hard time following this rule, I will bring you to another area instead.” In addition, you can channel your little one to substitute touching with looking, smelling if the item is truly dangerous to touch.

Unfortunately, the clock is ticking, the hours are going by. The past increases, the future recedes. Possibilities decreasing, regrets mounting.

Relentlessly prune bullshit, don't wait to do things that matter, and savor the time you have. That's what you do when life is short.

For all of the most important things, the timing always sucks. Waiting for a good time to quit your job? The stars will never align and the traffic lights of life will never all be green at the same time. The universe doesn’t conspire against you, but it doesn’t go out of its way to line up all the pins either. Conditions are never perfect. β€œSomeday” is a disease that will take your dreams to the grave with you. Pro and con lists are just as bad. If it’s important to you and you want to do it β€œeventually,” just do it and correct course along the way.

The Internet makes the smartest people smarter and the average ones stupider.

Either you fall down the rabbit hole of self-directed learning or get sucked into the hellscape of TikTok and the 24/7 news cycle.

nudge people towards their dreams.

if someone timidly reveals a big dream or ambition that they think others might scoff at, throw sunlight and water on it. encourage them to explore it. listen. ask them to say more. help them crystalize the idea. gently nudge them towards it.
