You try to do your best
But most times your best is just not enough.
All you can do at-times is hope for a better tomorrow.

Most people think the gap between "Good" & "Great" is just a small amount.
It is actually an ocean of difference.
Once you see it, you'll remember it forever.

To be alive—on all levels and in all things—means to be capable of change. To be made of flesh instead of stone is to live, to hunger, to transform, and all desire is a desire for being.

Hang out with men & women in genuinely happy marriages...
Hear how they talk about each other, see how they support each other, and cheer each other on...
You'll realize that the slop online throwing hate is so wasteful & that life can be oh so grand.

"Nobody is coming to save you"
Perhaps not, but consider what may be going on in the background at any given moment:
- Someone is working diligently on a cure for a health condition that you or one of your loved ones may benefit from in the future
- Someone is developing technology that will eventually allow you to catapult your life into excellence and live out your dreams
- Someone is in the process of creating the best film you will ever watch that inspires you and sharpens your perspective
- Someone is writing the best book that you will ever read, arranging the words in a way that resonates with you so deeply it changes the course of your entire life
- Your future spouse is unknowingly developing their character in time with yours, so that by the time you meet you match more perfectly.
They are learning, presently, essential lessons to pass on to you & your children.
Nobody is coming to save you, fine.
But your highest blessings are constantly developing beneath the surface.

For years you’ve postponed doing the one thing you know would completely change your life.
Keep rearranging the furniture. Keep pretending the ‘productive’ things you distract yourself with are important. lol.
But at least be honest enough to admit you’re scared to give up your former life. Admit you’re afraid of actually having to live the life of that person you fantasise about.

Nobody loses more severely and consistently than the overly cautious.
Such an abominable way to live. Completely antithetical to human spirit.
I can never hide my disgust when I see it.
If you’ve ever competed in a sport or competition of some kind, you know that defeat hunts you down once your mindset shifts from playing to win to playing to not lose.
Your entire life is like this.

Remember, you asked for this.
In order to sustain great things you need great lessons, which usually suck.

Not every "great" opportunity, is great for you personally...
That's where many, many people get pulled off course.
Saying "no" to terrible opportunities is easy, but the best can say "no" to objectively great opportunities when they don't fit where they want to go.

But the silver lining of this tragedy is that life has given you a second chance. At least for now. Because you have today. You have the present moment. How will you spend it? What will you make of it? What will it amount to?

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."

I hope people realize, you can reclaim your life at any time.
With rare exception, you can mess up, be down on your luck, and lose almost everything and rebuild.
This is always the season.
You start where you start.

A hard past, a business failure, or a humiliation.
War stories, not walls.

Be like Charlie Munger.
> At 29, divorced. Lost his house, savings, and everything.
> At 30, his 8-year-old son Teddy was diagnosed with leukemia. No cure existed. No medical insurance either. He paid for everything out of pocket.
> He and his ex-wife sat in the leukemia ward with other parents and grandparents in different stages of watching their children waste away.
> He would visit the hospital when Teddy was in bed, slowly dying, hold him for a while, then go out walking the streets of Pasadena, crying.
> At 31, Teddy passed away. Charlie was divorced, broke, and burying his 9-year-old boy.
> At 52, cataracts. A failed surgery left him blind in one eye and caused complications. The pain was so intense that he couldn't stand up. He had the entire eye removed.
> For a man obsessed with reading, losing an eye would seem like a prison sentence. His response? "It's time for me to learn Braille."

The most beautiful people wear their hearts on their sleeves, their souls in their smiles and their power in their silence. They're lost, they're wild, they're wrong sometimes, but they're brave enough to admit it. Most importantly they know their worth and they're themselves around or away from you. They’re real and gentle and warm and considerate. Those are the people you want to surround yourself with.
