For me, I am driven by two main philosophies: know more today about the world than I knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others. You'd be surprised how far that gets you.

Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.

Some solution at scale.
Maybe a small business which solves this.

Why?

Is there a better way to design these cables?

Talk to someone when you're having trouble, and when you're not, be with someone.

This may seem difficult because we only count on a specific person to support us through difficult times, but there are lots of people to support our journey when are truly conscious of our surroundings.

I’ve heard a lot we need to toughen our kids up to survive in the cruel world. I don’t agree.

That β€œtoughness” is so often brokenness, hardening.

I want to raise children who feel confident and secure because they know they were loved no matter what.

I want to raise children who expect to be treated well and treat others well too because that’s what they’ve always known.

β€œTough” isn’t my goal. Strong in the face of adversity, sure, but that strength comes from love and security.

What do you think?

This book covers a wide range of topics around consciousness, including various aspects of perception, awareness, dreaming/lucid dreaming, sleeping, dying, and a theory of the
β€œenacted self” (β€œ|” as a process). The chapters are chock-full of references to neuroscience studies that are quite relevant, presented neatly in context, and highly thought-provoking.

Waking, Dreaming, Being powerfully demonstrates how bringing cognitive science, philosophy, and Buddhism into a critical engagement can open innovative ways of exploring the β€˜hard problem’ of consciousness.

This new societal norm of keeping young children occupied/ pacified/ entertained/ β€œbusy” is t e r r i f y i n g

By providing an endless flow of passive entertainment - whether that be in the form of screens or audiobooks - we’re training them to be completely unaware of their surroundings

To learn how to function in life and how to keep their bodies safe, children need to see a world beyond a screen and hear that world without headphones

How can a generation that values mindfulness, meditation, and mental well-being feel comfortable with raising a distracted generation of children who are incapable of being still, present, and alert?
