The metric you should be paying most attention to is progress.
Partying isn't bad.
Video games aren't bad.
Netflix binges aren't bad.
Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't.
Partying til 4am can break you out of a mundane workaholic routine.
A Netflix binge on a Saturday can ease stress and numb the mind after putting it to good use.
I'm not giving you an excuse to escape.
The point is to not lie to yourself about the progress you are making.
But, at the same time, understand that upward progress can't go up forever.
Yin yang.
Work rest.
Balance.
Find it.

Anti-gifting should be a thing.
It's when someone comes to your place and takes away stuff you've rarely used so that you live with less clutter around.

Everything is play. 💫
Children do not benefit from a child-centric culture. They benefit from a family centric culture. The practical skills of everyday family life still hold incredible value.
When we overly focus on entertaining children, we rob them of developing their own ✨intrinsic✨ ability to self entertain.
Boredom is the birth place of creativity. 🎨
Does this mean we need to cut back on setting up activities, planning play dates, scheduling extracurriculars year round, or purchasing toys?
➡️ Maybe. ⬅️
In short, it will depend on each family.
To discern further ask yourself the following questions:
🔸Where am I going overboard?
🔸Do I find myself overly focused on entertaining the kids?
🔸How comfortable am I with their boredom?
🔸How comfortable am I with involving them in our everyday life activities?
🔸What needs course correction here?
Good luck! 💫
