‘Vidya Deevena’ scheme launched in Andhra Pradesh
Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy launched ‘Jagananna Vidya Deevena’, a fee reimbursement scheme that would benefit 14 lakh college students in the State.
From the 2020–21 academic year, the fee reimbursement amount would be credited directly into the accounts of the mothers instead of that of the students in four instalments.
The government has released over ₹4,000 crore for the scheme and ₹1,880 crore more towards the pending dues

MP CM launches ‘Jeevan Amrit Yojana’ scheme to boost immunity system of citizens
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched Jeevan Amrit Yojana, a unique scheme to boost immunity system of citizens of the state.
Under this scheme, the State Government will distribute packet of special Trikut Churna prepared by the AYUSH Department free of cost to the citizens.
Under Jeevan Amrit yojna, packets of 50 grams each of the kadha have been prepared by Madhya Pradesh Laghu Vanopaj Sangh in collaboration with the Department of AYUSH. This kadha made of peepal, ginger and black pepper is being distributed free of cost to one crore people in rural and urban areas of the state.

• The Ministry of Finance has established the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) through a notification on 27 April.
• Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar represented India in the first virtual Petersberg Climate Dialogue on 28 April. The first virtual Climate Dialogue was the eleventh session of Petersberg Climate Dialogue.
• Agartala Smart City used a Mobile COVID-19 sample collection kiosk under the smart city mission. Agartala Smart City has designed and submitted it to the city’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
• The former Brighton and Liverpool striker Michael Robinson passed away on 28 April. He was 61-years-old. He was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2018.
• A multi-disciplinary expert group COVIDActionCollab (CAC) is developing a protocol to test sewage for COVID-19 traces in selected densely populated urban residential areas of Bengaluru and Kolkata.
• India is set to produce indigenous rapid testing and RT-PCR diagnostic kits by the end of May. The information was passed by the Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan.
• Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has issued guidelines on using the central air-conditioners in public buildings during the COVID-19 pandemic. The move comes as per the guidance of Delhi High Court.
