Recently, South Korea, India, the United States, Japan, and the European Union (EU) have come together to launch an alliance to put joint efforts into building a resilient supply chain in the biopharmaceutical sector. The alliance was inaugurated at the inaugural meeting of the Biopharmaceutical Alliance, held in San Diego, California, during the Bio International Convention 2024.​The Bio International Convention is the premier event for the biotechnology industry, bringing together over 18,000 leaders from around the world.

Recently, India participated in the BRICS foreign ministers’ meeting, which commenced on Monday in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. This marks the first foreign policy assignment for India. Most notably in this recent meeting, BRICS calls for enhanced use of local currencies in trade between member countries. BRICS is an intergovernmental organisation comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates. BRICS nations cover 30% of the geographical area and 45% of the total population of world.
