I'm currently reading "Bad Blood" where former WSJ investigative reporter John Carreyrou shows the reader how Elizabeth Holmes escaped exposure time and time again as she built up a company based completely on fraud into a $9 billion juggernaut. How did she do it? She was able to talk people into believing she was doing impossible things, even when the proof she was lying was staring them in the face. Most people just couldn't believe she was lying to them. And Holmes took full advantage of it. So does Tore.

I'm perfectly honest about who I am, what I think and what I've done in life. I'm a fat guy that lives in South Texas who, until 2 years ago, delivered newspapers for a living while commenting on Twitter and writing columns on the side. My writing and commentary stands or falls on it's own. I don't need to invent a past history to try to get people to see me as an authority or an expert, to hand me respect I don't deserve.

If I'm reading this right, Harvard educated Dr. Lindeman is claiming the North Dakota Attorney General came after her with this "fake" homeless shelter fraud case because she was single handedly exposing a human trafficking ring.

When caught, a sociopath always has an explanation. This reminds me of another case from 2 years ago when a good friend of mine, who has her own podcast, was using a former military guy as a source on the Fast & Furious scandal. When I read his accounts of it, what struck me was he was regurgitating stuff that was already available and well known, but he had a habit of then inserting himself into the narrative and acting like he played a key role when I knew he hadn't. So I researched him. Guess what I found?

1 minute of Googling revealed he'd been caught red-handed defrauding a former employer and had been sent to prison, and had recently gotten out. He had hidden all of that from my reporter friend. And it turned out this made some of the things he claimed personal involvement in pretty much impossible. So, my reporter friend braced him with this. Guess what he did?

He claimed he was working undercover for the feds and he was faking stealing that money so he could continue his undercover work in prison. And she bought it.

So like I said earlier, nothing I'm saying here matters all that much. If people want to believe, they will. Nothing will stop them. Certainly not me.
