Verify Before You Share
A small reminder to myself first, then to everyone else.
Not everything we hear in lectures, read in books, or see in Islamic posts is necessarily authentic. Even if it is widely practiced or taught, we should make it a habit to verify it with the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah.
Allah ﷻ says:
"O you who believe! If a sinful person comes to you with news, verify it..."

Verify Before You Share A small reminder to myself first, then to everyone else. Not everything we hear in lectures, read in books, or see in Islamic posts is necessarily authentic. Even if it is widely practiced or taught, we should make it a habit to verify…
I'm sharing this because I myself used to practice these things, so this is a reminder to myself before anyone else.
As I mentioned earlier regarding wudu, these were among the things I used to practice. When I was studying in a madrasah, one of my Mu'allimahs (Aalimah teacher) taught us to recite specific du'as for each action of wudu—washing the hands, rinsing the mouth, washing the face, right arm, left arm, wiping the head, wiping the neck, right foot, and left foot.
Later, when I started verifying everything with authentic evidence, I learned that these specific du'as for each step of wudu are not authentically established from the Sunnah, and making them a regular part of wudu has no authentic basis. Likewise, wiping the neck during wudu is also not established from an authentic hadith.
The authentic dhikr established after completing wudu is:
[ أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، وأشهد أن محمداً عبده ورسوله، اللهم اجعلني من التوابين واجعلني من المتطهرين ]
# That's why I was emphasizing reading the previous post about Bid'ah.
• The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Every innovation is misguidance."
May Allah forgive our mistakes, increase us in beneficial knowledge, and keep us firm upon the Sunnah. آمین

A Follow-Up: The Authentic Dhikr After Wudu.
After reading the previous post, I wanted to share the authentic evidence regarding the dhikr after wudu, along with its great virtue.
The Prophet ﷺ said that whoever performs wuḍūʾ properly and then says:
…the eight gates of Paradise will be opened for him, and he may enter through whichever gate he wishes.
The same narration also mentions that whoever performs wuḍūʾ properly and then prays two rakʿahs, approaching them with his heart as well as his face, Paradise is guaranteed for him.
There is also an additional wording reported in another narration:
This addition is not part of the wording of Sahih Muslim 234 itself; it is reported in Jāmiʿ at-Tirmidhī 55 and was authenticated by Shaykh al-Albānī رحمه الله.
So, to be precise, the shahadah is explicitly established in Sahih Muslim after wuḍūʾ, while the “Allāhumma-jʿalnī min at-tawwābīn...” wording comes through another narration.
This is exactly why we should verify what we are taught and what we share, and distinguish between what is authentically established, what is disputed, and what has no authentic basis.
Jazaak Allah khayr.

SALAT AL-KUSŪF / KHUSŪF
Kusūf (كسوف) → Solar eclipse ☀️
Khusūf (خسوف) → Lunar eclipse 🌙
The eclipse prayer is an established Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.
Evidence:
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When you see it, then pray and supplicate until it is over.”
https://sunnah.com/bukhari:1040
The Prophet ﷺ also commanded ṣalāh, duʿā, takbīr and ṣadaqah during an eclipse.
https://sunnah.com/bukhari:1044
He ﷺ also instructed to remember Allah, make duʿā and seek forgiveness.
https://sunnah.com/bukhari:1059
• Ruling :
Salāt al-Kusūf/Khusūf is Sunnah Mu’akkadah (strongly emphasized Sunnah), not obligatory according to the majority of scholars.
• If the eclipse is NOT visible in your region?
If an eclipse occurs elsewhere but is not experienced/visible in your locality, you do not pray the eclipse prayer merely because it is occurring elsewhere.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When you see it, then pray…”
The ruling is therefore connected to the eclipse occurring in your locality.

⚠️ There is no authentic evidence requiring a specific duʿā or specific type of ṣadaqah for an eclipse. Any such claim should be verified from authentic evidence.

The Verse That Made Iblis Cry
{وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا لِذُنُوبِهِمْ}
“If they fall into sin or wrong themselves, they remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins.”
[Surah Al ‘Imran 3:135]
Anas ibn Malik رضي الله عنه said:
“When this verse was revealed, Iblis cried.”
[Tafsir Ibn Kathir]
Why did he cry?
Because this verse destroys his goal.
He strives to make people sin…
but this verse shows that sin is not the end.As long as a person remembers Allah and seeks forgiveness, his plot collapses.

STUFF RELATED TO AZAN
• 3StepMethod for Answering the Azan
--> repeat azan phrases similar to muadhdhin except "hayya alas salah" & "hayya alal falah", you say "la hawla wala quwwata illa billah" in response to these 2 phrases.
then you say Durood on prophet [ اللَّهُمَّ صل عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ ]
then you read the wasilah dua [in picture attached]
• Correct Azan and Iqamah
--> Repeating testimony phrases of Azan [[Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadar-rasulullah]]
four times will necessitate repetition of Iqamah two times.
• if azan phrases are said two times like we hear in Subcontinent's azan usually, phrases of Iqamah will be said once only except "qad qamatis salah" which is said two times.
(unfortunately, most hanafis say Iqamah twice even though the phrases of Azan were said only twice instead of four times because they quote only half of that hadith...)
• There is 2 rakah sunnah prayer between every Azan and Iqamah, even in maghrib. [Bukhari 625, Nasai 682, Ibn Majah 1163]
• Prophet said Dua is NOT rejected if made between Azan and Iqamah. [Tirmizi 212]
• Acc to a Za'eef Hadith (tirmizi 3954), Prophet said ask Afiyah in dua during that time. Other Sahih Hadiths say Prophet used to ask Afiyah after waking up.
--> my suggestion is pray 2 Rakahs and make the dua for Afiyah (health, wellness, etc) while praying in it.
Dua can be made at positions such as in sujood, in tashahud after duas, after ruku during qiyam, etc...
Dua can be made even in your own language.
• After Maghrib azan, you can also make this dua after wasilah dua. [Abu Dawood 530]
• Going out of Mosque after Iqamah is given is not permissible unless for emergency. [Tirmizi 204]
• Saying Azan and Iqamah even if praying alone is permissible. Even females can say them for other females or for oneself if they want the reward and lead the prayer with females or their mahram behind. [Abu Dawood 592, Sunan Nasai 667]
• REWARD : 1 Azan = 12 Good Deeds
& 1 Iqamah = 6 Good Deeds [Ibn Majah 728]
• Not Talking, Not Going to Toilet, Covering your Head, saying you won't be able to say the kalimah on deathbed for talking during azan, etc is authentic?
--> All that stuff is Fake.
Answering Azan is a Mustahab only, not farz i.e. you get reward if done but no gunah if not done.
• Turning on Lights at Maghrib time otherwise Angels won't come ??
--> Baseless Myth. In my opinion, it comes under extravagance (fizool kharchi) because you're not using all those lights. Angels are made of Light themselves, why would they need your lights💀? to refill their energy level or smth?
• Praying during Azan?
--> Farz Prayers are permissible during Azan.
# For Example, there are 2 mosques near someone's house and he starts praying after 1st azan and 2nd azan starts then he should continue praying.
Praying Nawafils intentionally is disliked because the reward for answering Azan is better.
• Quran during Azan?
--> Answering Azan > Reciting Quran
∵ Azan time is fixed and temporary but Quran can be read anytime.
• Saying Durood before Azan and
Kissing Thumbs and Putting them on Eyes whenever you hear Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم 's Name, especially during Azan?
--> Bid'ah...
• Eating while Azan going on, especially Maghrib time in Ramdan?
--> depends on individual's choice.
but, talking while eating is proven from hadith and acc to Imam Nawawi, it's Mustahab.
So, it's recommended to answer Azan too while eating because both can be done together.
• Doing Salam and Replying to it during Azan?
--> Permissible to say Salam first. Wajib to reply if someone has said it.
+ there's silent moments while answering Azan too.
The reward for doing these 3 things regularly is you'll have intercession of Prophet on Judgement Day.
• Correct Azan and Iqamah
--> Repeating testimony phrases of Azan [[Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadar-rasulullah]]
four times will necessitate repetition of Iqamah two times.

O Allah, this is the time when Thy night comes on, Thy day retires, and the voices of Thy summoners are heard, so forgive me.

Chapter: What Should Be Said When One Hears The Mu'adhdhin
Sa’d b. Abi Waqqas reported the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) as saying :
If anyone says when he hears the MU’ADHDHIN :
وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولاً وَبِالإِسْلاَمِ دِينًا
“And I testify that there is no god but Allah alone who has no partner and that Muhammad is His servant and Apostle: I am satisfied with Allah as lord, with Muhammad as apostle and with Islam as religion”,
he will be forgiven.
Sunan abi Dawud-525
Grade : Sahih (al-Albani رحمه الله)
This dua is authentically reported as a supplication connected with hearing the Adhan but it should not replace the established response to the mu’adhdhin. The primary Sunnah is to repeat the Adhan.
So the short sequence would be:
1. Repeat the Adhān
2. After Adhan:
→ Send salah upon the Prophet ﷺ
اللهم صل على محمد
3. Say:
اللهم رب هذه الدعوة التامة...
(the duʿā of al-Wasīlah)
4. You may also say:
رضيت بالله ربًا، وبمحمد رسولًا، وبالإسلام دينًا
5. Make your personal du'a
→ Especially because the time between Adhan and iqāmah is a time when du‘a answered.
6. When the Iqāmah starts:
→ Listen/respond; then begin the salah.
•For a woman praying at home: Adhan and iqāmah are not required. If she hears the Adhan, she may follow the sequence above.
I saw somewhere that half of this dua should also be recited, so I searched for it.

The Entire Day of the Student of Knowledge Is Worship
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:
The reality is that the student of knowledge, from the moment he gets up during the night until he returns to his bed—if he is truly a student of knowledge—is engaged in worship and in striving in the path of Allah.
This is because he is either listening to knowledge, writing it down, revising it, or researching it. All of this is from striving in the path of Allah.
So do not think, O student, that those who devote themselves to remaining in the mosques, or those who fast during the day, or stand in prayer during the night, have surpassed you. Rather, you are better than them without doubt.
For this reason, Imam Ahmad, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:
“Revising knowledge for one night is more beloved to me than spending that night entirely in worship.”
If someone asks: Which is better—seeking knowledge or going out to call to Allah?
The answer is: I do not consider there to be any proper calling to the religion of Allah except after learning the religion of Allah.
Allah, the Most High, said:
﴿قُلْ هَٰذِهِ سَبِيلِي أَدْعُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ عَلَىٰ بَصِيرَةٍ﴾
“Say: This is my way; I call to Allah with sure knowledge.”
[Sūrah Yusuf: 108]
The one who calls without clear knowledge may end up demolishing aspects of the religion while not even realising it.
Therefore, he must possess knowledge by which he is able to call the people. The amount of knowledge required will be according to what the daʿwah itself demands, so he learns from knowledge whatever the particular call requires and necessitates.
