je prends mon temps,
laissant le monde avancer
pendant que je reste là.
time passes differently here in costa rica. nothing feels like it’s waiting to interrupt the day. i wake up when the light comes in, not because i planned to, but because the day already started without me. most hours are spent outside, moving from shade to sun, from water to land, doing very little and thinking even less. the ocean stays in front of me the entire time. constant enough that i stop paying attention to it. steady enough that i don’t need to question it. days don’t feel separated here. one turns into the next without me noticing. i don’t keep track of much and i don’t feel like i’m missing anything. c’est simple, presque banal. things just happen, and i’m there when they do.
