ADJECTIVE AND ITS USES .
Avoid using two comparatives like:
more better, more taller, more fatter ,more handsomer etc together

This Adjective is commonly used to talk about the quality of nouns as such it is used in everyday description .
Example: beautiful, handsome, poor, clear, pretty, intelligent, negligent etc

*DT BREAKFAST QUESTIONS (Physics)* βœοΈπŸ’’πŸ˜‹πŸ’«πŸ”₯πŸ’’βœοΈ

1. A body is moving along a straight path. What will happen to the body in the absence of an external field?

a) It will stop
b) It will move with the same speed in a different path
c) It will move with the same speed along the same straight path
d) It will move with a reduced speed along the same path

*Correct Answer: C* ✍️
*Explanation:* πŸ”₯
_Galileo stated that on a horizontal plane, an object should move with a constant velocity in a straight line path. Therefore a body moving along a straight path will continue to move in the same direction with the same speed even in the absence of external forces._

2. A person is standing in a bus. When the bus starts moving forward suddenly ___

a) The person moves forward
b) The person remains stationary
c) The person is unaffected
d) The person moves backward

*Correct Answer: D* ✍️
Explanation:* πŸ”₯
_A person standing in a bus moves backward when the bus moves forward. When the bus moves forward, the lower part of his body begins to move along with the bus while the upper part of his body continues to remain at rest due to inertia. That is why a person falls backward when the bus starts._

❀1
Syllable Stress
A stressed syllable has a longer, louder, and higher sound than the other syllables in the word.
Syllables with the schwa sound in them are rarely the stressed syllable.
Rule 1. When a two syllable word can be both a verb and a noun or adjective, the verb form is
usually stressed on the second syllable, and the noun or adjective form is stressed on the first
syllable.
Example.
Everyone in our class is present today. (adjective) PREsent
She gave her friend a lovely present. (noun) PREsent
The students will present their speeches on Monday. (verb) preSENT
Rule 2. Prefixes and Suffixes are not usually stressed
Examples:
Walk+ing WALKing
Un+clear unCLEAR
Thought+ful THOUGHTful
Help+less HELPless
Im+poss+ible imPOSSible
Rule 3. Words with some suffixes are usually stressed on the syllable just before the suffix.
These suffixes include:
-tion –cian –sion –ic –ity –ical –ify –ogy –graphy
Examples
examinAtion techNItion disCUSSion eLECtric
elecTRICity geoLOGical geOgraphy
Identify the stressed syllable
1. In-for-ma-tion
2. Ti-re-some
3. Re-spon-si-ble
4. Ex-ci-ted-ly
5. O-be-di-ence
6. In-stru-ment
7. Com-mu-ni-cate
8. Re-mark-a-ble
9. De-cid-ed-ly
10. Trans-por-ta-tion

there are two basic rules for stress on two syllabic words:

1. Nouns, adverbs and adjectives are usually stressed on the first syllable.
     Examples: BASket, BEAUty, GALlop, HAppy

2. Verbs with two syllables are usually stressed on the second syllable.
E.g subJECT, obJECT, exPORT
For three-syllable words, look at the word ending (the suffix), using the following as your guide:

Words ending in er, ly

For three-syllable words ending with the suffixes er or ly, the stress is placed on the first syllable.

Examples:

ORderly

SIlently

LOvingly

MAnager

GARdener

EAsier

Words ending in consonants and in y
If there is a word that ends in a consonant, or in a y, then the first syllable usually gets the stress.

Examples:

RARity

OPtimal

GRAdient

GEnorous

Sample sentences: write out the correct stress pattern of the underlined word in each sentence

She thinks that the subject is difficult to understand.

They will subject him to hardship if he lives with them.

Abbey plans to export some goods to Ghana.

Exports to Canada are up to a million this year.
