3 Amorphous carbon : These are the non crystalline form and they have no definite shape. They are divided into coal, soot ,charcoal, coke and carbon fiber

A series of compounds in which successive members differ from each other by a specific structural unit (CH2) is called a homologous series e.g. alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alkanols, etc. A member of a homologous series is called a homologue.
A homologous series has the following properties:
