Command of quantitative evidence

For some easy, but for most time-consuming (subjective)

There are 2 types of command of quantitative evidence questions.

1) A short paragraph with a diagram
2) A long paragraph with a diagram

Questions with short paragraphs are quite straightforward, so you will likely not have any problems with them. You will need to understand what's happening. You will also need to analyze both the diagram and paragraph before making your final decision

Questions with long paragraphs are time-consuming when you analyze the diagram. If you see a diagram and a long paragraph, make sure to start with reading the paragraph. The College board wants to confuse you by giving a lot of information in two different formats. You can answer these questions without looking at the diagram. Just do some practice!

Peace

Text completion questions

1. Carefully read the claim or theory in question.
Usually this will be presented right before the blank.

2. Restate it for yourself in your own words
If it is particularly dense or confusing, jot down a quick (3-6) word summary on your scratch paper

3. Work out the implications, sticking as close to the passage as possible.

4. Look for the answer that matches
Keep in mind that it may use wording very different from that in the passage

Usually, two options will have contradictory answers, which you should eliminate first. Then, you will need to choose between the remaining two options. One answer will be wrong in a subtle way. For example, it may involve speculation - that is, an answer could be true based on the information in the passage, but there isn't enough information to determine whether it is actually true. Half-right, half-wrong options may sound so plausible that it seems as if they should be true. (In fact, some of them may even be true in the real world.) Answers in this category can be tempting because they generally refer to claims or people that are directly mentioned in the passage.

When you are really struggling to choose between very similar answer choices, try to understand the wording being used. The correct answer will have rephrased ideas from the text, and incorrect answers will have genuinely off-topic conclusions

Message to those who are taking the June
SAT...

So, the June SAT is in 3 days.... I don't know who needs to hear this, but the SAT in no way shapes or represents your intelligence and SHOULD NOT dictate your self worth. Whether you are aiming for a 1000 or even trying to break 1500, you are valid. You already took a huge step in trying to advance your college admissions process by even signing up and you should be proud of yourself! Even if you didn't study for the June SAT, who cares. There's always the one in August. If you don't get the score you want, dust yourself off and try again you got this! The SAT isn't about how smart you are, but about discipline. Create a routine and stick with it and I promise you, you will get the result that you are looking for. "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work. "You have the ability to get a great score, you just have to put in the work. Use these next three days to prepare and just breathe. Instead of dreading the days until the SAT, count them down proudly, because you have come far. One of the worst things you could do for the SAT is panic. Be calm and just think. Be strategic and don't second guess yourself; go with your instinct. Keep breathing and you got this I believe in you! Good luck everyone!

📎What we suggest to improve your vocabulary?

Have you solved the new Digital SAT? If yes, you have probably seen the words in context questions that make up almost 30% of the test. You may have very hard time to learn the vocabulary, repaiting the same process for every single day. Not anymore - try our diversified ways to go through vocabulary. Below mentioned ways are proven scientifically to improve your - yes your - vocabulary.

- Reading: Reading widely and consistently can expose you to new words in context and help you to learn their meanings. You can try reading a variety of materials such as books, magazines, newspapers, and online articles.
- Keeping a vocabulary journal: Keeping a vocabulary journal where you write down new words and their definitions can help you to remember them more effectively. You can also add example sentences and use the words in your own writing and speaking to solidify your understanding.
- Using flashcards: Flashcards can be a helpful tool for memorizing new vocabulary. You can make your own flashcards with new words and their definitions, or use online resources such as Quizlet or Anki.
- Playing word games: Playing games such as Scrabble, Boggle, or crossword puzzles can be a fun way to improve your vocabulary and practice using new words.
- Watching TV shows and movies: Watching TV shows and movies in English can expose you to new words and phrases, and help you to understand their usage in context.
-Using vocabulary-building apps: There are many apps available that are designed to help you improve your vocabulary, such as Duolingo, Babbel, and Vocabulary.com.

🔋Useful Links to use:

- Anki: https://apps.ankiweb.net/
- Duolingo: https://www.duolingo.com/
- Babbel: https://www.babbel.com/
- Vocabulary.com: https://www.vocabulary.com/

Moreover, we suggest you to learn the origins of words as it helps you to understand the bigger context. Here is one website called Online Etymology Dictionary that you can use to search for words and their origins.
