This Full Moon is particularly powerful.

The Moon reaches fullness in Shatabhisha Nakshatra, in sidereal Aquarius - while a partial lunar eclipse is taking place.

Why this Full Moon should not be approached for manifestation and culmination ?

SHATABHISHA - “THE HUNDRED HEALERS”

Shatabhisha can be translated as “a hundred healers” or “a hundred physicians.”

Its deity is Varuna - lord of the cosmic waters, hidden order, truth and ṛta, the cosmic law.

Its planetary ruler is Rahu.

This gives Shatabhisha a very unusual archetypal movement:

isolation → discovery of what is hidden → purification → healing → return to wholeness.

This is not so much a gentle, heart-centered kind of healing. It is almost diagnostic. Shatabhisha wants to see what is normally invisible: a hidden pattern, an unconscious mechanism, a disturbance within the system, or a truth that a person has been avoiding.

And this is where it becomes especially interesting.

☊ This is also an eclipse on the Rahu–Ketu axis ☊

At the time of this Full Moon, sidereally, we have approximately:

Moon - Aquarius / Shatabhisha
↕
Sun - Leo / Magha

And the nodal axis also runs through Aquarius–Leo: Rahu is in Aquarius and Ketu is in Leo.

This creates a very powerful symbolic axis: Magha ↔ Shatabhisha / Ketu ↔ Rahu :

ancestors ↔ future
inheritance ↔ liberation from conditioning
the individual throne ↔ the collective field
the known ↔ the unknown

Magha is connected with the Pitris - the ancestors, inheritance, ancestral authority, and everything that has already shaped a person.

Shatabhisha seems to ask:
What have I inherited that no longer needs to determine my future?

This is why I would not approach this Purnima simply as an ordinary Full Moon for manifestation.

Varuna is very important here

There is a fascinating symbolic dimension to Varuna.

He is associated not only with water, but with the invisible order of the world. Varuna sees what is hidden. In Vedic mythology, there is almost nowhere one can hide from his gaze.

This is why Shatabhisha is simultaneously associated with mystery, observation, investigation, medicine, altered states of consciousness, solitude, and healing.

🌑 THE ECLIPSE

Because this Full Moon occurs with a lunar eclipse, traditionally this is less a moment for active manifestation and more a time for:

meditation • mantra • japa • silence • observation

Instead of asking:

“What do I want to receive?”

perhaps ask:

What needs to be seen?

What is ready to leave my system?

Where am I trying to control a process that requires surrender?

In Vedic tradition there are 4 equally important pillars of life

• Dharma - Purpose
• Artha - Resources ( necessary to fulfil this purpose )
• Kama - Pleasure
• Moksha - Transformation

Pūrva Phalgunī is fundamentally about pleasure, creativity, attraction, rest, sensuality, celebration and the enjoyment of life.

It is one of the nakṣatras where the question isn't simply:
"What should I accomplish?"

but rather:

"What kind of life is actually worth enjoying?"

The New Moon makes this especially introspective: rather than immediately pursuing pleasure, it can be a moment to redefine what pleasure, love, creativity and abundance mean for you

And there is another detail this year:

The New Moon occurs at approximately 25° Leo, which places it in the last portion of Pūrva Phalgunī.

So it’s less about starting something completely new, but more about:

What old pattern around pleasure, love, creativity, recognition or desire am I ready to leave behind - and what do I actually want to cultivate instead?

There is also an interesting background: the Moon passes through the recent eclipse zone on September 9, immediately before the New Moon.
That gives the lunation a somewhat liminal / transitional quality.

🪷 Pūrva Phalgunī + Venus

Because Pūrva Phalgunī is ruled by Venus, themes can include:

•love and relationships
•sexuality and intimacy
•artistic creativity
•music, beauty and aesthetics
•pleasure and sensual experience
•hospitality and celebration
•wealth and material enjoyment
•rest and regeneration
•attracting rather than forcing
•learning how to receive

And Bhaga is particularly interesting:
he represents the portion of prosperity or enjoyment that belongs to us.

So one beautiful intention for this New Moon could be:

"I allow myself to receive the fruits of what I have cultivated."

Not more achievement. Not more effort.
But receiving, enjoying and sharing what has already become possible.
