🔥Trump’s Crypto Summit

On Friday, Trump will hold his first crypto summit at the White House. The industry as a whole anticipates news from the Trump administration about the Bitcoin Strategic Reserve (BSR)—specifically, how and when it will be funded. We’re expecting high price volatility on Friday and over the weekend around this historic event in the White House. The market will likely move up on the president’s promising guidance, but how solid that momentum is depends on whether there’s a clear path for the US government to actively purchase Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies).

We saw something similar with Trump’s tweet on March 2. Positive talk from Trump about the Strategic Reserve caused an aggressive bounce, which quickly reversed when the market realized there was still no tangible roadmap for Congress to approve it, or clarity on where the funding for digital assets would come from. This may get clearer this week. However, if we don’t get precise timelines and a roadmap for BSR approval in 2025, the event could disappoint.

Interestingly, Bitcoin is trading near a key technical pivot around $91K right as this event unfolds, making it likely that Trump’s guidance will determine the trend starting Friday.

I believe BSR is inevitable, but how far off it is remains the crucial question. I can’t answer that. A concrete BSR in this cycle (in 2025) is basically a coin toss right now. Until we get clear signals, it makes sense to stay conservative.
