He ordered to open fire, so we did, the car slowed down and stopped. It was black Lada with white sign "Children". Inside there were one man, one woman and a child*. Then we received the command to check their bodies - we did, there were no signs of life. We found valuables - cash ~1000 USD and jewelry. Then the command was to put the bodies in the nearest building, so we did.

~72K people lived in Bakhmut before the start of hostilities. The first battles on the outskirts of the city happened on August 1 2022. A full-fledged operation to liberate the city began on October 8 and lasted 224 days. Throughout the entire period civilians continued to remain in the city. After talking with witnesses of the events in the city, analyzing the data published in social networks and the media, we recorded cases of murders, injuries, robbery and other crimes committed by representatives of the Ukrainian armed groups against the civilian population. But in this investigation we will focus on the facts of the death of civilians as a result of targeted explosions of multi-storey buildings carried out by the AFU. It should be noted that the attitude of the AFU towards the civilians remaining in Artyomovsk was quite contemptuous. They were universally called "waiters of the Russian world" and were treated as second-class people.

In the spring of 2023, during the retreat, Ukrainian combatants mined and blew up multi-storey buildings. At the same time, civilians who were in the basements were often not warned about the fact of mining, or did not have enough time to leave the building. This led to the death of civilians under the rubble of the blown up buildings. This act can be considered as a targeted killing of persons not directly involved in the conflict.

March 27 2023: three-story building at Mariupolskaya street 65. The text under the video indicates that the building was mined in advance and subsequently blown up by servicemen from the ranks of the 93rd AFU Brigade.

May 1 2023: unsuccessful attempt at a controlled explosion of a multi-storey residential building on the Jubilee street 113.

May 6 2023: a five-story residential building on the street of 60 years of the formation of the USSR 1.

On May 19 2023 Aleksandr Stupnikov who was evacuated from Artyomovsk told how on March 28 2023 the Ukrainian military drove people out of apartments in several high-rise buildings in Artyomovsk, giving them only 15 minutes to run away from their houses, and then the buildings were blown up. Alexander himself lived at Vasily Pershin street 20, in the basement of which he then hid from the fighting together with his neighbors, total 12 civilians. “It took about 10 minutes, as it exploded. One half of the house remained standing, another half collapsed, the right entrance remained, and my whole entrance remained".

After the liberation of the city center Wagner fighters shared that in order to blow up these buildings detonation mechanism MON-50 - an electronic detonator - were laid in their lower floors, after which the explosion occurred and the house collapsed. It is noted that such detonators are likely to be reinforced with TNT or loaded with a charge from the UR-77 "Meteorite" demining installation.

On April 11 2023 the AFU servicemen blew up a mined house on the Levanevskogo street 16. This was told to us by the evacuated residents of Artyomovsk, Yulia Mikhailitskaya and Evgeny Glushchenko who at that time were in the basement of the house. In this house there were 5 entrances: civilians were staying in the basements of the 1, 2 and 5 entrances, total 17 people. On April 11 at 04:00 an explosion occurred, as a result of which the 1 entrance of the house was completely destroyed, the 2 entrance of the house was partially damaged. 7 people died under the rubble: 33-year-old Irina Saprykina and her mother-in-law Nina Sirotkina; 6-year-old Matvey Alekseenko and his mother Tatyana Alekseenko, also mother's parents Nadezhda and Vladimir Lomov.

We [the house] were mined and blown up. 7 people died that night. They also threw grenades at us - we heard the sound of them rolling and exploding. We also heard "but there are civilians there" - "commander's order not to be discussed".

They shot as hard as they could. 4 people were in the house when 2 mines hit it. I don't know how we survived. One of the mines landed 3 meters from me.

When we saw Ukrainian soldier in the street the street instantly became empty, everybody was hiding.

They destroyed and burnt my house. The Russians (Wagnerites) weren't there yet, they only were at the outskirts back then. And these... You have to find a spot to fire [at the house], film it, put it on the internet... Who does this? Inhumans.

The guys (Wagner) were leading us one by one, at night. And these bitches... Bullets flying over our heads. This thing followed us, a drone... And shooting at us.
