Cyber crimes are hard to track but it’s not always that the attacker manages to escape.
There are too many hacks and too little law enforcement resources available to keep up with the crime given the global nature of crimes. Often times, companies and individuals do not even report cyber incidents to authorities relying on self-protection only.
However, there are cases when hackers face charges. In December 2021, a Canadian was charged with a number of attacks on individuals, businesses and government agencies in Canada and the U.S. Following a 23-month investigation involving the FBI and Europol, he was arrested and remains in custody awaiting a court date 👮
What do you think - will he get what he deserves or will they fail to prove him guilty?

In their 2021 report, they estimated that every minute:
💲1.79M: lost to cybersecurity incidents
💲38K: e-commerce losses to online payment fraud
💲3,615: lost to cryptocurrency scams
These are some intimidating facts to take. What are your thoughts - is the cost of cyber crimes too high? 👀
