The economy will spiral out of control - that to me is certain. I think, the more likelihood, would be internal power struggle within the CCP - with the high ranking members forming a group to overthrow Xi.

But its gonna be very difficult - there is a reason why Xi Jinping is purging multiple top military leaders, and had been actively asserting his control over the military the past few years - getting the military to swear allegiance to him and follow his leadership.
