PNDT ACT (Regulation and prevention of missuse) - 20th September 1994
It come into force in 1996
Ammended In 2003 to PCPNDT (the Preconception and Pre natal diagnostic technique- prohibition of sex selection)
This act before 2019 doesnot include J&K but in 2019 this act also applied in J&K .
At present this act applied in all over INDIA.
Hording display in - mother tongue is compulsory
It includes 7 chapters:-
1. PRELIMINARY
2.REGULATION OF GENETIC COUNSELLING CENTRES, GENETIC LABORATORIES AND GENETIC CLINICS
3.REGULATION OF PRE-NATAL DIAGNOSTIC Techniques
4. Central supervisory board
5. APPROPRIATE AUTHORITY AND
ADVISORY COMMITTEE
6.REGISTRATION OF GENETIC COUNSELLING CENTRES, GENETIC LABORATORIES AND GENETIC CLINICS
7. OFFENCES AND PENALTIES
8.MISCELLANEOUS
