I donโฒt chase, I attract
Everything finds its way back
I don't stress, I donโฒt fight
My whole life is flowing right
I breathe in peace, I let go fear
What is mine is already here
I don't run, I don't wait
The universe knows my fate

THAT'S WHO I AMโ ๏ธ
THAT'S HOW I EXPERIENCED THE WORLD๐
THAT'S HOW I EXPERIENCED THE WORLD
THE ART OF NOTICING!
I think that is what happens when curiosity takes over. Ordinary things stop being ordinary. A random object becomes a mystery. A stranger becomes a story. A street becomes a collection of clues. Life starts feeling less like something I'm moving through and more like something I'm investigating.
Maybe that is why I love the idea of noticing so much.
Every day feels packed with secrets hiding in plain sight. A single light glowing in an apartment building at midnight makes me curious. Who is awake? Are they studying? Crying? Falling in love? Rewatching a show for the fifth time because it reminds them of somebody? Did they just wake up thirsty and forget to switch the light off? A parked bicycle covered in dust makes me wonder who stopped riding it. A tree with initials carved into its bark makes me wonder whether those people still talk.
Questions appear everywhere once I start looking.
I sometimes wonder who was the first person to look at a cloud and decide it resembled an animal. Imagine how ridiculous that conversation must have sounded.
โThat one looks like a rabbit.โ
โNo, thatโs clearly a horse.โ
โItโs literally water floating in the sky.โ
Yet somehow humanity collectively agreed that clouds occasionally look like things.
Curiosity is strange like that. It takes something completely ordinary and turns it into entertainment. Thatโs the beauty of the Art of Noticing!
As a child, I think I understood this instinctively. I could spend an hour staring at ants carrying crumbs and consider it a successful afternoon. Every rock felt important. Every puddle deserved investigation. Every stick had potential. Somewhere along the way, adulthood arrived carrying responsibilities, deadlines, notifications, and endless thoughts about tomorrow. My attention became occupied by practical things. Curiosity started losing ground.
Then every once in a while, something pulls me back.
A bird sitting on an electrical wire looking unusually judgmental.
A cat sleeping on top of a car as if it personally owns the vehicle.
Suddenly I remember how interesting the world actually is.
I think curiosity and the art of noticing might be one of the closest things to magic I have ever experienced.
The world can remain exactly the same while feeling completely different the moment I become interested in it.
The moment I started noticing everything slowly!
A tree stops being a tree. Suddenly it becomes a witness. How many conversations has it overheard? How many first dates have happened beneath its branches? How many people have sat underneath it believing their problems would last forever?
A bench stops being furniture. It becomes evidence.Who sat here yesterday? Who received good news here?
Questions transform everything.
I think curiosity keeps boredom away.
Every boring place becomes interesting under enough scrutiny. Every ordinary day contains dozens of tiny discoveries waiting for somebody to notice them. A crack in a wall starts resembling a map. A coffee stain looks like an island. A strangerโs laugh becomes memorable. Rainwater turns roads into temporary mirrors.
Life becomes richer when I allow myself to care about things that serve absolutely no practical purpose.
Some of my favorite observations are completely useless.
I love noticing that every neighborhood seems to have its own personality. Certain streets feel energetic. Others feel sleepy. Some roads feel like they are constantly in a hurry. Others seem content doing absolutely nothing. I like noticing that certain trees bloom for only a brief period each year and somehow manage to make an entire area feel different. I like noticing that old bookstores smell different from new bookstores. I like noticing that birds seem to have favorite places.
None of this helps me earn money. None of this solves a problem. Yet all of it makes being alive more interesting)
๐ Perhaps that is why I love the art of noticing.
Noticing bring Curiosity and Curiosity keeps reminding me that the world is far stranger than I assume.โจ
