🕹 DataUnlocker now offers automation for refreshing your DataUnlocker setup!

Especially with well-known websites, it happens that the ad blocker community notices the usage of DataUnlocker and blocks it by blocking, for example, the corresponding proxy endpoint URL of your setup, which you then need to replace each time manually.

Once integrated with your system, DataUnlocker automatically performs a complete refresh of your setup whenever its parts (DataUnlocker’s script or a proxy endpoint) are found in content filtering lists. It also guarantees that DataUnlocker will be able to handle any futrher updates needed on your behalf.

For automation to work for you, implement a few webhooks on your side to automate the process of proxy endpoints creation and script updates. Read more about automation here.

🛡 DataUnlocker now supports placing reverse proxies in front of the DNS proxy endpoints.
✅ This is a highly recommended privacy upgrade for all our customers, and you should update your setup as soon as possible. Start by creating a new proxy endpoint.

Lately, DataUnlocker domains and IP addresses became tracked by ad blocking community. Because of this, our customers were receiving frequent notifications about their proxy endpoint URLs being blocked again and again, since the DNS records customers create point directly to DataUnlocker servers which is captured by custom DNS resolvers.

Now you can prevent this by placing a reverse proxy (or using services like CloudFlare DNS proxy) in front of DataUnlocker’s proxy, basically hiding DataUnlocker's IP addresses behind yours. Thus, there will be no way to crawl the DNS and tell that you are using DataUnlocker, and hence your proxy endpoints won't need to be replaced often.

🔥 We’re experiencing some problems with a heavy load on our servers just like Ukraine holds an attack right now. We will update you with the status once it’s resolved.

Your websites are not impacted, it’s just DataUnlocker will not work for a short while.

⛳️ TL;DR start using path-based proxy endpoints if you haven’t started yet.

There's no secret DataUnlocker attracts adblock’s community attention. Today, we are happy to announce our recent improvements to a path-based proxy endpoints, which now support CloudFlare Workers and many other types of proxies you can configure yourself, depending on technologies you use in your infrastructure.

Path-based proxy endpoint is the only type of the proxy endpoint adblock community have no way to either crawl or effectively block, given that you implement automatic installation refresh or keep replacing it manually when someone eventually adds a path to URL filter lists.

ℹ️ Tomorrow on Sat 16 Apr at 7 AM CET we plan to update our TLS certificate issuing scheme, which will be followed by a planned downtime of around 20 munutes for those proxy endpoints that didn’t have your own reverse proxy in front of them.

☝️ Don’t worry: as always, even when down, DataUnlocker doesn’t affect your websites.

For those who didn’t switch to path-based proxy endpoints yet or haven’t put a reverse proxy in front of your endpoints we suggest to do so as soon as you can 🎓

ℹ️ We have faced an issue with stats reporting: despite the traffic was proxied normally, stats you see in the Dashboard section of the property were down for around ~2 hours.

The issue is resolved now, practically the service/proxy was not affected ✌️

⚠️ We caught one more unexpected issue with proxy stats reporting, which made some properties exceed their prepaid traffic and hence the proxy was stopped for them.

As usual, this won’t affect your websites at all, however you will miss some proxied analytics while we’re working on the resolution. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

✅ The issue with broken proxy stats has been resolved.

We had to wipe out proxy stats for all affected properties in the period from Tue, 11 Oct 2022 12:00:00 GMT to Wed, 12 Oct 2022 17:14:00 GMT. It actually now means you’ve got proxy at that day for free!

Additionally, as a sign of our sincere apology for the service distruption, for all affected properties we credited 2 GB of traffic as a gift 💜
