⚠️ Binance stores customer funds with its reserves - Bloomberg


- Collateral for some tokens issued by the exchange is stored in the same wallet as customer funds.
- In this wallet: Binance 8, almost half of the 94 coins that Binance issues (Binance-peg and B-Tokens) are stored
- And customer funds are on the same wallet (see here)
- Binance 8 is an exchange cold wallet. The collateral assets were previously moved to this wallet by mistake and are accordingly indicated on the B-Token Proof of Collateral page
- Binance is aware of this error and is in the process of transferring these assets to special collateral wallets
- Some B-Tokens in the wallet have much more collateral than would be necessary. For example, Binance 8 had a reserve of almost 22,700% for OGN OriginToken on Monday and 18 billion 001% for LRC Loop ring.
