✒️ Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked:

Is it obligatory to move the tongue when reciting Qur’aan in prayer or is it sufficient to say it in one's heart?

He replied:

Recitation must be done with the tongue. If a person recites it in his heart when he is praying, that is not sufficient. The same applies to all other adhkaar; it is not sufficient to recite them in one's heart, rather it is essential to move one's tongue and lips, because they are words to be spoken, and that can only be achieved by moving the tongue and the lips. End quote.

📖 Majmoo’ Fataawa Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, 13/156

And Allaah knows best.

✒️Ibn Rajab said:

When the worshipper shows humility to his Lord by bowing and prostrating, he is attributing to his Lord the attributes of might, majesty, greatness and exaltedness. It is as if he is saying: Humility and humbleness are my attributes, and exaltedness, greatness and majesty are Your attributes. Hence it is prescribed for the worshipper when bowing to say: “Subhaan Rabbiy al-‘Azeem (Glory be to my Lord the Most Great)” and when prostrating to say: “Subhaan Rabbiy al-A‘laa (Glory be to my Lord Most High).” The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) sometimes used to say when bowing and prostrating: “Subhaana Dhi’l-jabarooti wa’l-malakooti wa’l-kibriyaa’ wa’l-‘azamah (Glory be to Him Who possesses might, sovereignty, majesty and greatness).”

📖 End quote from al-Khushoo‘ fi’s-Salaah (p. 41-43).
🔹 It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

The Messenger of Allah said:

“A man who weeps for fear of Allah will not enter Hell until the milk goes back into the udder, and dust produced (when fighting) for the sake of Allah and the smoke of Hell will never coexist.”

📖 Narrated by al-Tirmidhi and al-Nasaa’i.
✒️It was narrated that ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas said:

The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:

“Allah will bring forth a man belonging to my ummah before all creatures and will spread ninety-nine scrolls [containing the record of his bad deeds] for him, each scroll extending as far as the eye can see.
Then He will say, ‘Do you object to anything in this? Have my scribes who keep note wronged you?’ He will say, ‘No, my Lord.’ He will ask him, ‘Do you have any excuse?’ He will say, ‘No my Lord.’ Allah will say, ‘On the contrary, you have with Us a good deed, and you will not be wronged this Day.’
A slip of paper will then be brought out, on which are the words ‘Ashhadu an laa ilaaha ill-Allah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasooluhu (I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger).’
Allah will say, ‘Bring your balance.’ The man will say, ‘O Lord, what is this slip of paper in comparison to these scrolls?’ And He will reply, ‘You will not be wronged.’
The scrolls will then be put in one side of the Balance and the slip of paper in the other, and the scrolls will become light and the slip of paper heavy, for nothing could compare in weight to the name of Allah.”

📖 Narrated by Ahmad (6699) and at-Tirmidhi (2639); classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani (may Allah have mercy on him).
📚 Abu Bakr turned around and he was crying

[Inspirational Story]

‘Silsilah al-Ahadeeth as-Saheehah’.
By The Muhaddith, Shaykh, Allamaa’ Muhammad Nasur uddeen al-Albaani.

On the authority of Rabeeyah al-Asslamee who said : I used to serve the Messenger of Allaah –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam– and he gave me some land, and he gave Abu Bakr some land, and when it came to dividing the land, we differed over a cluster of dates from a date palm tree. Abu Bakr said : this is on my side of the land! And I said : It is on my side! There used to be a problem between me and Abu Bakr, and Abu Bakr said a statement to me which I hated but he regretted saying it, so he said to me: ‘O Rabeeyah! Say something to me similar to what I said to you, so that it can be a requital.’

So I said : ‘I will not say it.’

Abu Bakr said : ‘You will say it or I will request the Messenger of Allaah –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam– to order you to say it.

So I said : ‘I will not say it.’

Abu Bakr left that portion of the land for me and went off to the Prophet –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam– and I followed him. The people from my tribe followed us and said to me: ‘May Allaah have mercy on Abu Bakr, why is he going to the Messenger of Allaah –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam–about you, and he said what he said about you.’

So I said : ‘Do you know who this is?? This is Abu Bakr as-Siddeeq, he is one of the two who were in the cave, he is one who has grown old as a Muslim ( one of the elders of the Muslims), beware he does not turn around and see you assisting me against him and becomes angry and he meets the Messenger of Allaah –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam– , and the Messenger of Allaah –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam– will become angry due to him being angry, and then Allaah Azza wa Jal becomes angry due to them being angry and then Rabeeyah will be destroyed.’

They said : ‘What do you order us to do?’

I said : ‘Go back.’

Abu Bakr –RadhiAllaahu anhu- went off to the Messenger of Allaah –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam– , so I followed him by myself, until he reached the Prophet –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam– and he told him the story as it was. The Prophet –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam– raised his head towards me and said: ‘O Rabeeyah what’s the matter between you and as-Siddeeq?’

I said : ‘O Messenger of Allaah –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam– such and such happened, and he said a statement to me which I disliked, then he said to me, say something similar to what I said to you so that it can be requited, but I refused.’

Then the Messenger of Allaah –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam– said: ‘Yes, do not say a word back to him, but say: May Allaah forgive you O Abu Bakr. May Allaah forgive you O Abu Bakr.’

Hasan said: ‘Abu Bakr turned around and he was crying.’
🔹Benefits of Calamities🔹

▫️Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Or think you that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty and ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who believed along with him said, ‘When (will come) the Help of Allah?’ Yes! Certainly, the Help of Allah is near!”

[al-Baqarah 2:214]

▫️It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

“Trials will continue to befall the believing man and woman, with regard to themselves, their children and their wealth, until they meet Allah with no sin on them.”

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2399; classed as saheeh (authentic) by al-Albani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, 2280.

▫️And it was narrated that Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

“On the Day of Resurrection, when people who had suffered affliction are given their reward, those who were healthy will wish their skins had been cut to pieces with scissors when they were in the world.”

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2402. See al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, no. 2206.
Forgiveness

Allaah ( تعاىل ) says:

▫️“And O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him, He will send you (from the sky) abundant rain, and add strength to your strength, so do not turn away as Mujrimoon (criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah).”

📖 [Hood 11:52]

And Allaah ‎( تعاىل ) says:

▫️“O you who believe! Turn to Allaah with sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will expiate from you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise)”

📖 [al-Tahreem 66:8]

Anas Ibn Mālik (radhi Allaahu anhu ) said: I heard Allah’s messenger ( sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) saying:

▫️“Allah ( تعاىل ) said, ‘Oh son of Adam, as long as you call on me and hope in me, I will forgive you for whatever (sins) you have and I will not mind. Oh son of Adam, if your sins were to reach the clouds in the sky and then were you to ask for my forgiveness, I would forgive you and I would not mind. Oh son of Adam, if you were to come to me with sins as much as the earth and then you meet me not worshipping anything else along with me, I would come to you with as much forgiveness.’”

📖 Recorded by at-Tirmidhī (no. 3540). Shaykh al-Albānī said it is authentic in “Ṣaḥīḥ Sunan at-Tirmidhī” (no. 2805)

Allaah loves the repentance of His slaves, and accepts it. Indeed, He rejoices over it, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

▫️“When a person repents, Allaah rejoices more than one of you who found his camel after he lost it in the desert.”

📖 (Agreed upon. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, no. 6309)

✒️ Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him)

Fataawa ‘Ulama’ al-Balad al-Haraam (p. 1084)

Undoubtedly calling for restrictions or reductions on the numbers of children one has is contrary to the command of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who said: “Marry women who are loving and fertile, for I shall be proud of your large numbers before other nations.”

Narrated by Abu Dawood (2050); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Irwa’ al-Ghaleel (1784)

Allah, may He be exalted, has guaranteed provision for all creatures, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And no (moving) living creature is there on earth but its provision is due from Allah”

[Hood 11:6].

Opposing population increase, whether by imposing means of contraception or abortion or otherwise, based on the belief that resources are not sufficient for an increased population, or that the interests of humanity dictate reduction in population growth, this is explicitly denying the Lordship of Allah and His care for His creation, and the abundance of His provision. It is akin to the beliefs of the polytheists, who used to kill their children for fear of poverty. Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“kill not your children because of poverty - We provide sustenance for you and for them”

[al-An‘aam 6:151]

“And kill not your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Surely, the killing of them is a great sin”

[al-Isra’ 17:31].
Seriousness of Debt ❗️

◾️We were sitting with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) when he raised his head towards the sky, then he put his palm on his forehead and said: “Subhaan-Allaah! What a strict issue has been revealed to me!” We remained silent and were afraid. The following morning I asked him, “O Messenger of Allaah, what is this strict issue that has been revealed?” He said, “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if a man were killed in battle for the sake of Allaah, then brought back to life, then killed and brought back to life again, then killed, and he owed a debt, he would not enter Paradise until his debt was paid off.”

Classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Nasaa’i, 4367.

◾️The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) refrained from offering the funeral prayer for one who had died owing two dinars, until Abu Qataadah (may Allaah be pleased with him) promised to pay it off for him. When he saw him the following day and said, I have paid it off, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Now his skin has become cool for him.”

Musnad Ahmad (3/629); classed as hasan by al-Nawawi in al-Khalaasah (2/931) and by Ibn Muflih in al-Adaab al-Shar’iyyah (1/104).

◾️Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in Fath al-Baari (4/547):

This hadeeth indicates how difficult the issue of debt is, and that it should not be undertaken except in cases of necessity. End quote.

◾️It was narrated from Thawbaan (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“Whoever dies free from three things – arrogance, cheating and debt – will enter Paradise.”

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (1572); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.

◾️It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“The soul of the believer is suspended because of his debt until it is paid off.”

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (1078).

◾️Al-Mubaarakfoori said in Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi (4/164):

The words “the soul of the believer is suspended” – al-Suyooti said: i.e., it is detained and kept from reaching its noble destination. Al-‘Iraaqi said: i.e., no judgement is passed as to whether it will be saved or doomed until it is determined whether his debt will be paid off or not. End quote.

It was also narrated that many of the salaf warned against debt:

◾️It was narrated that ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:

Beware of debt, for it starts with worry and it ends with war.

Narrated by Maalik in al-Muwatta’ (2/770).

◾️In Musannaf ‘Abd al-Razzaaq (3/57) it says:

Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:

O Humraan, fear Allaah and do not die in debt, lest it be taken from your good deeds when there will be no dinars and no dirhams.

◾️Our scholars said: It is a disgrace and a humiliation because it preoccupies the mind and makes one worried about paying it off, and makes one feel humiliated before the lender when meeting him, and feeling that he is doing one a favour when accepting a delay in payment. Perhaps he may promise himself that he will pay it off then break that promise, or speak to the lender and lie to him, or swear an oath to him then break it, and so on. Moreover, he may die without having paid off the debt so he will be held hostage because of it, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The soul of the believer is held hostage by his debt in his grave until it is paid off.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 1078. All of that undermines one’s religious commitment.

▫️However, if you intend to pay it back, strive hard to do so and leave instructions on how to pay it back then in shaa Allaah Allaah will pay it on your behalf as is states:

◾️The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The one who takes people’s wealth intending to pay it back, Allaah will pay it back for him, and the one who takes it intending to destroy it, Allaah will destroy him.”
