Former Minister of Transport of Russia, Roman Starovoit, was found dead in his car in Odintsovo, Moscow Oblast.

He was dismissed from his post by Putin just a few hours ago.

The Investigative Committee of Russia says Starovoit is believed to have committed suicide by shooting himself with a Makarov pistol.

Russian media report that he was investigated for "involvement in thefts during the construction of fortifications in the Kursk region and was about to be detained by Russian law enforcement agencies for questioning."

An interesting part: A source close to the investigative authorities told Forbes that Starovoit coud've killed himself more than a day ago, presumably on Saturday/Sunday night, but Mash says he was still at work at the Ministry of Transport this morning.

Preliminary arrest relates to alleged embezzlement during the construction of a military training facility near Novosibirsk.
