@SemanticSheriff: Nobody wants Iran 🇮🇷 to have a nuclear weapon. They have been set back significantly by Israel 🇮🇱 in the past weeks. The US 🇺🇸 does not need to get into a direct war with Iran for them not to be able to build a nuclear weapon.
Israeli strikes have diminished their capabilities. Without uranium enrichment facilities, nuclear scientists, atomic research laboratories, centrifuge manufacturing facilities, missile factories, rocket motor factories, or access to their facilities, Iran cannot make nuclear weapons, and Israel has struck a significant number of them in the past week. Not every piece of the puzzle needs to be removed to make it impossible for Iran to make a nuclear weapon. Without several of those components, they won’t be able to make a nuclear weapon for years or over a decade.
Israel has struck many of these targets in the past week, including destroying larger parts of nuclear facilities, eliminating over a dozen key nuclear scientists, striking uranium enrichment facilities, research facilities, and Israel will strike more. More focused strikes by Israel will set Iran back a decade.
This does not require direct US military intervention to accomplish, nor does the US need to get into a war with Iran to significantly weaken Iran, which will lead to months or years of war and cost hundreds of billions of dollars. Like most Middle East wars, the US has dragged on for.
US direct military intervention is unnecessary and will lead to the deaths of US troops, tons of resources wasted, and potentially another war. I’ve already talked in detail about the wasteful usage of SM-3, SM-6, and THAAD interceptors on Iranian missiles, when they are needed to defend US ships and military bases from China, and the US does not have a large stockpile or a large production rate.
A story repeated constantly over the decades in the Middle East, the US thinking it would be quick, ending up being much longer and costly. Then, another threat from the Middle East arises in several years, and the US spends more resources trying to eliminate it. A never-ending cycle. It’s best to let Israel deal with these threats if they choose to, and stay out of it, militarily intervening.

@RVA_Brian @SemanticSheriff: I wasn’t talking about boots on the ground. The US does not need to intervene militarily. It’s unnecessary when Israel is already doing the job for the US. Iranian missiles are much more accurate at ~500km. Several US bases and many US assets are in range, or via Iranian proxies
