🔥🕊️I've spent the whole day following the news about the drone attacks Ukraine launched deep into Russian territory.

And one thought keeps surfacing: It’s impossible not to notice the parallels with Ukraine’s own history. I keep thinking of Princess Olga.

More than a thousand years ago, she was faced with the murder of her husband by the Drevlians. Instead of submitting, she plotted revenge. She asked them for a simple tribute: birds. She tied burning materials to their legs and sent them back to their homes. The birds did what birds do—they flew back. And the cities burned.

Today, it’s not birds but drones. Today, it’s not ancient revenge but modern defense. And yet... the echoes are impossible to ignore.

FPV drones flown from within Russia, hidden in trucks, flying straight into military airfields. Strategic bombers destroyed. Entire operations paralyzed. It feels like fire sent back to the enemy’s doorstep again.

⚡️First official comment by the SBU on todays drone attacks on Russian military airfields:

“7 billion US dollars. This is the estimated cost of the enemy's strategic aviation, which was hit today as a result of the SBU special operation "Spiderweb".

34% of strategic cruise missile carriers at the main airfields of the Russian Federation were hit.

We will tell you about the details of the special operation of the Security Service a little later.

And for now, we can only say one thing to the Russians:

RT @emilkastehelmi: The Russian MoD has now confirmed the Ukrainian strikes. However, they claim that the Ukrainians only succeeded in Olenya and Belaya - they say strikes in Ivanovo, Ryazan (Dyagilovo) and Amur were repelled.

Currently we've only been able to confirm successful strikes in Olenya and Belaya (a total of 5x Tu-95MS and 1x AN-12). There's been reports of explosions and images of something burning in the Ivanovo and Dyagilovo directions, but it's possible the smoke and explosions have been from downed drones.

Additional proof of the results will likely surface soon, if the claims of over 40 damaged or destroyed aircraft are true. If not, satellite images in the coming days will likely tell the truth.

Even if the final number of destroyed targets is lower, this has still been a very successful and a cost-effective operation, striking Russia where it hurts.

Consequently, Russia will be compelled to adapt against an even wider range of drone threats across the whole country.
