❗️The International Civil Aviation Organization has officially found the Russian Federation responsible for the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in 2014.
According to the Council’s decision, Russia violated international aviation agreements. The case was initiated by the Netherlands and Australia, who now expect Russia to enter negotiations regarding appropriate reparations. The next phase involves facilitating those talks and ensuring cooperation from the Russian side.
▪️On July 17, 2014, MH17 was shot down over eastern Ukraine. All 298 people on board were killed.

@UAControlMap: I think the main point is that conducting offensive operations has simply become much more difficult given the saturation of FPV, Mavics, and other strike UAVs and increased sophistication of strike UAV units, including during recent Ukrainian assaults in Tyotkino and Belgorod oblast by elite units. There is far less margin for error by attacking units, and even company-level assaults may require weeks or months of preparation of the battlefield to set the necessary conditions. Until one side can become effective at locating and suppressing/neutralizing FPV and Mavic teams, maneuver will be difficult even for elite units.

I think some of the focus on how heavy or light future ground forces should be slightly misses the point. We need to be able to rapidly locate and destroy enemy strike UAV teams at the tactical level. If we can’t do that, heavy or light units will struggle on the battlefield regardless.
