With the Kursk operation approaching an end, this assessment from late August, unfortunately from a Ukr pov, held up well.
In my view, the operation did not achieve its objectives, nor was it worth the cost.
Developments elsewhere, such as Pokrovsk, must be considered too.

What the Kursk operation achieved was a shift in perceptions on the war and frankly not much else.
If the current trajectory continues, that shift will become temporary and Kursk will likely backfire on the Ukrainian political and military leadership.
