@dillonrpayton: I actually think its extremely bad that a uniformed member is serving as DoD Press Sec, which is an inherently political job. It harms the credibility of the Armed Forces to have Ryder out there reading off administration talking points.

@ColbyBadhwar @dillonrpayton: The Services should have much more robust press apparatuses to do technical briefings, but anything remotely political should be handled by a Pentagon press office that is entirely civilian in its public face.
