3.🇷🇺POWs captured in Kursk Obl by🇺🇦80th Air Assault Bde.
An earlier aerial view of the POWs and the captured Ural-4320 in tweet 2, released on 11 August, helps date this to early in the UAF offensive.
I now think there are at least 9 POWs here, 2 of which are WIA.

@andriyhaydash: "The war is reaching a dead end" is hardly an accurate characterization of what the DIA said. Their comments, as far as I can tell, were more focused on Ukraine, rather than Russia. Haven't finished reading the entire report yet (it's 160 pages), but so far they have not explicitly stated that Russia is incapable of major offensive operations in the next 6 months.

@secretsqrl123: US arms sales are hitting record highs. Prospective customers understand the difference in EULAs between FMS/DCS and grant assistance, even if the Twitter commentariat doesn't. A thread on this is now on the drawing board.

@timothys00: They have all spoken in favour of aid since day 1. They don't possess magic powers to compel the Speaker or any of their colleagues in Congress to do anything. The delay in appropriations is only secondary in impact to Biden's unilateral termination of Drawdowns between January & April.

❗️🇦🇺🇳🇴🇺🇸 Australia will manufacture both the Naval Strike Missile & Joint Strike Missile!
The Australian government is investing 850 million AUD in partnership with Kongsberg Defence Australia to establish a manufacturing plant at the Newcastle Airport.
The intention to establish a NSM production line in Australia has been known since last year, but the addition of JSM is a new development. Kongsberg Defence Australia already produces launch ramps and other components for NSM.
NSM is also produced by Raytheon in the United States, out of their Arizona & Louisville, KY facilities.
This facility will be the only other aside from Kongsberg's own in Norway which can produce both NSM & JSM. I assume it will be primarily focused on final assembly and other select components. Currently other major subsystems are produced by various other European firms, such as SAFRAN 🇫🇷(Engine), TDW 🇩🇪 (Warhead) and NAMMO 🇳🇴 (Booster)....

Additional details:
Construction to begin later this year, complete in 2026. LRIP to begin in 2027, FRP of 100 missiles per year in 2028. Production could be scaled further in the future to support exports. Initial production will be assembly with most components imported, but Australian suppliers will be gradually onboarded to produce more components locally.
