According to our information, a training session with conscripts of the territorial troops will be held in Kamianiets district (Brest region). It’s planned to draft about 140 reservists. The preliminary date of the training session is August-September.

The drills will be financed from the regional budget. In the first version of the 2024 budget, national defense expenditures were 95,000 BYN ($30,111). However, in May, the budget was adjusted, and expenditures increased almost threefold (to 275,000 BYN/$87,166). This is almost 14 times more than the 2023 budget.

The territory of Kamianets district borders Poland. In March-April, drills with territorial defense were held in Voranava district (Hrodna region), bordering Lithuania.

It’s notable that in 2022 and 2023, territorial defense drills were not conducted in areas that border EU/NATO countries. Therefore, 2024 is in a sense “innovative.”

🇺🇸🇹🇼🇵🇭 The US State Department is in the final stages of preparing formal notifications to Congress of their plans to obligate the $2 billion in Foreign Military Financing that was appropriated by the National Security Supplemental in April.

Taiwan is likely to receive $1.2bn.
The Philippines: $500mln.
The $300mln balance will likely be spread around among other partners, but could include Vietnam.

Laos is hosting the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting this week and Secretary Blinkin is attending, so we may hear more about this very soon.
