The US announced another security assistance Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) package for Ukraine with an estimated value of $400 million which includes:
-Additional Patriot, NASAMS, and Stinger missiles
-"Equipment to integrate Western launchers, missiles, and radars with Ukraine's systems" which presumably refers to FrankenSAM
-HIMARS, 155mm, and 105mm ammunition
-Bradley, M113, and MRAPs
-AT-4 as well as TOW and Javelin ATGMs
-Precision aerial munitions and HARMs
-Coastal and riverine patrol boats

Agree with @Tatarigami_UA's assessment. The scope of this operation isn't fully clear yet (we may see advances or diversions near Sumy as well), but Russia likely seeks to draw Ukrainian reserves and units away from the Pokrovsk and Chasiv Yar fronts to set conditions for a deeper advance into Donetsk Oblast. The problem remains that Ukraine does not have enough manpower/forces available. Oryx has tracked 78 Bradley IFVs that were destroyed, damaged, abandoned, or captured by Russian forces. The actual figure of losses is likely higher (plus maintenance issues), but 100 should be sufficient to replace Ukraine's losses.
