Note: This occurred during the same massiive strike in which the Beriev aircraft factory in Taganrog, Rostov Oblast, Russia, was also struck by multiple drones despite Russian claims to the contrary.

@pravda_eng: Bild journalist Julian Röpcke 🤡 on Twitter is NOT a source.

@SmartUACat: Looking at it initially it looked like a Patriot launcher by the evidence the original account presented.

Then when I and others I know took a deeper look, there is not a conclusion that it was definitely a Patriot, and could also be S-300 like Russia claimed or possibly IRIS-T.
Ukraine Battle Map (Twitter)

@ukraine_map @SmartUACat: It does not mean that it wasn’t a Patriot launcher, but it needs to be looked at in more detail. Multiple characteristics match S-300 and IRIS-T, and some characteristics don’t match a Patriot.

The clear video is of the trucks after the strike so it’s much harder to distinguish.

@Doha104p3: You are becoming stealth like the F-35

@jackryan212: The whole NASAMS thing is taking an incredibly long time. Ukraine still has to get 8 more NASAMS systems pledged from the US.

In the past year and five months, only 2 more NASAMS systems were made and sent to Ukraine. At this rate, it would take 7 years for them to be delivered.

@CANADA566: Question to the panel: I don’t know if it’s been answered yet. But if US or Europe would go to war against Russia what are the chances of a nuclear strike occurring by Russia, or would it be a threat like it is with Ukraine?

That war would be different than previous World Wars.

@CANADA566: The biggest morale booster would be giving Ukraine 200 M39A1 ATACMS 300km Cluster Missiles that would allow them to take out all the air bases in Crimea and still have +100 missiles left, and also sending Ukraine Taurus cruise missiles alllowing them to destroy the Crimean Bridge

@CANADA566: The Top 5 weapons for Ukraine is

1. Regular and Cluster 155mm shells
2. Patriot Air Defense Systems
3. Well equipped F-16s
4. ATACMS 300km and Taurus Missiles
5. MLRS Cluster Munition for M270s

Also for the F-16s to be equipped with the best radars, cruise missiles, and AMRAAMs

I am working to confirm with more details what air defense system Russia destroyed

It was claimed as an S-300 by Russia and then Patriot launchers by an OSINT account

If anyone has any details they would like to point out to come to a more definitive conclusion, please DM me

@cym27s: I looked into it extensively and cannot come to a definitive conclusion, whether it was Patriot or not, due to the destruction caused by the missiles.

I am between 3 different systems with similar characteristics and vehicles. Some X OSINT account said it was Patriot originally.
Ukraine Battle Map (Twitter)

@ukraine_map @cym27s: Russia claimed it was S-300 PS launchers initially, then an X OSINT account said it was Patriot. That is how we got to it’s a Patriot. But looking at the details it’s not definitively a Patriot, as there is not much difference to distinguish it from being another SAM system.
Ukraine Battle Map (Twitter)

@atooraha_maska @DElsa66: I believe the evidence. OSINT accounts misidentify equipment all the time. With this one it’s very hard because the only video we see is after the Islander missile hit. By the evidence I see now it could be identified as 3 different systems, not definitively any one of the three.

@ukraine_map @cym27s: That’s why I am taking a closer look at this and asking others to help point out distinguishing details to definitively say that it was a Patriot, and not another SAM launcher similar to the remaining scrap metal from the explosion.

Saying it’s cope defeats the purpose of OSINT.

@mitilian @AndrewPerpetua: Please message me because it could be identified as a Patriot, which is true, but it could also be identified as other air defense systems. I’m looking for the specific details from the video released by Russia to distinguish it being a Patriot from it being a IRIS-T SLM launcher

@Maks_NAFO_FELLA: They better be equipped with good modern F-16 radars, +100-160km AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, JSOW glide bombs, and JASSM or SLAM-ER cruise missiles because if the F-16s don’t have those then the F-16s will make minimal to no difference.
