Romanov says that Murz, who runs one of the prominent Russian Telegram channels, has committed suicide. Murz made a suicide post on his channel two hours ago after he was forced to remove a post about Russian casualties in Avdiivka.

On February 20, the press service of the Internal Troops published a video from the “Young Sniper” competition. Some servicemen in the video were wearing the badge of the Granit special purpose detachment.
The unit with this name hasn’t been publicly reported before. In total, there are 9 special purpose detachments in the Internal Troops: Rys’, Smerch, Chest’, Berkut (Minsk), Taifun (Hrodna), Shtorm (Brest), Buran (Homiel), Tsiklon (Astravets), and Tornado (Akolitsa village, Minsk district).
In December 2023, it was reported that a new special purpose detachment was being formed on the basis of the special purpose company of the 1st Separate Special Militia Brigade (military unit 5448, Minsk). And in early February, the commander of the Internal Troops said that 10 special purpose detachments had already been formed.
Most likely, the Granit detachment is the 10th unit of special forces, which was formed on the basis of the military unit 5448. We c...

Lukashenka’s enforcers arrested at least four employees of the representative office of LG Electronics in Belarus. The enforcers accuse them of “participation in riots, rallies and marches, demonstration of banned symbols on expensive Mercedes cars, rubbish comments and appeals.” One of the detainees allegedly had cartridges for a Makarov pistol.
Some of the detainees were forced to name their income. They’re threatened of being sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment

Today, the Lithuanian government decided to close the Raigardas (Pryvalka) and Lavoriskes (Katlouka) border crossings starting from March, only two border crossings will remain on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border:
• Kamenny Loh-Medininkai;
• Beniakoni-Salcininkai.
In addition, Lithuania decided to prohibit the passage of pedestrians and cyclists through the Medininkai and Salcininkai border crossings, as well as to gradually reduce the number of permits issued to Belarusian and Lithuanian carriers of regular international passenger transportation by buses.

Welcome to zombieland. The Belarusian Air Force Command to send the military to NLP courses?
Belarusian Hajun found out that the plan of public procurement for 2024, which is going to be implemented by the command of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Belarus, includes a purchase of courses for advanced training – “Neuro-linguistic programming”.
According to available information, these courses are going to be held for the military from February to June 2024, and 4,340 BYN ($1,340) from the budget will be spent.
It’s unknown why the leadership of the Belarusian Air Force is sending the personnel to these courses, where they will work with soldiers using pseudoscientific methods. Perhaps, they want to teach pilots some methods of brainwashing/imposing ‘right ideas’ on their interlocutors or just want to brainwash the military more.

“Today it is the most important element of deterrence of any enemy” – Lukashenka, probably about the lack of a septic truck.
Yesterday, Lukashenka spoke at a meeting with the senior staff of state agencies of the national security system of Belarus.
Among other things, he spoke about the delivery of new equipment to the Belarusian Armed Forces, such as:
• Belarusian Polonez-M MLRS with a range of up to 300 kilometers;
• 2 divizion sets of the S-400 SAM systems;
• 2 divizion sets of the Iskander-M missile systems.
He also mentioned the invisible modification of tactical nuclear weapons ‘deployed’ in Belarus.
But he didn’t mention the need to purchase an airfield septic truck for the Air Force. And military pilots in Machulishchy still have to step over Russian feces spilled on taxiways around the runway during regular visits of their colleagues from the Russian Defense Ministry (passenger aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces empty their on-board toilets into the street due to the lack of septic trucks in Machulishchy).
And apparently, the command of the Belarusian Air Force included the services for “Advanced training on the courses of “Neuro-linguistic Programming” in the procurement plan for 2024 instead of the MA-7 septic truck.
It turns out that the absence of a septic truck at the airfield is, in a sense, an element of deterrence of natural urges in the military, at least on board the plane.

@exexpat19 @marson_jr: Arguably the most important factor of 2023 was that Russia was able to recruit a very large # of volunteer soldiers, not just mobiks and prisoners. And they are able to find enough volunteers to conduct assaults. Not sure why people were convinced they had no reserves in Aug-Sep.

@exexpat19 @marson_jr: Yes, and even a smaller mobilization probably wouldn't present serious political risks to him. The question is what level of offensive operations are sustainable, and that is hard to predict. But they clearly have enough forces to keep attacking despite the losses in Avdiivka.

@UnderCupboards @exexpat19 @marson_jr: Russia made numerous serious blunders in 2022, and it was certainly possible those would continue in 2023. But we wrote in December 2022 that Ukrainian offensives in 2023 would probably be more difficult because the conditions would be less favorable.
