✈️/1. Three Russian planes are reported to have been shot down on the eastern front. Let's see if
confirmation of this will appear or not.

“On the morning of February 17, 2024, in the Eastern direction, units of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed three enemy aircraft at once - two Su-34 fighter-bombers and one Su-35 fighter!” - Commander of the Air Force of Ukraine

@astraiaintel: Ukraine 🇺🇦 would need dozens of F-16 Fighter Jets equipped with

1. Upgraded Radars (+250km)
2. AMRAAM Missiles (+100km)
3. JSOW Glide Bombs
4. SLAM-ER/JASSM Cruise Missiles
5. Longer Range HARM Missiles

F-16s could make a big difference in the war, but only if equipped properly

@AndreiIonut0111 @MateuszKaczysk9 @astraiaintel: It’s not fantasy he is correct, 70 Leopards is not close to the impact that 70 well equipped F-16s can do.

70 is a good quantity, much better than the 6-12 F-16s that they will get in a couple months. 200 F-16s would a very good number, and probably enough if very well equipped.

Military activity in Belarus in January 2024. Briefly.

This is the first post about the main military events of January in Belarus.

• In January, intensive combat training in the Belarusian Armed Forces and combat readiness inspections were conducted. At the same time, if we compare the intensity of combat training of the Belarusian Armed Forces in January 2024 with January 2023, it’s much lower now.

• The number of the Russian Armed Forces in Belarus hasn’t changed. The Russian contingent is still in the same locations as before.

• The number of mercenaries of PMC Wagner in Belarus remains low. They continue training of the Internal Troops of Belarus, and the main change in their activity is the intensification of cooperation between the mercenaries and the Belarusian Armed Forces.

• One of the most remarkable events of the month is that there were no arrivals of aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Belarus in January.

In January, for the first time since the beginning of the war, no military transport or passenger aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces or Rosgvardiya arrived in Belarus.

The statistics of arrivals of military transport and passenger aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces for the past year show that from 6 to 34 Russian aircraft arrived in Belarus per month. And in January 2024, there were none.

We note that the number of the aviation group of the Russian Aerospace Forces hasn’t changed over the month. As of February 1, the following aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces are permanently deployed in Belarus:

• Lida airfield – 1 Su-25;
• Baranavichy airfield – 2 Su-24M/MR and at least 1 Su-30SM.

According to Belarusian Hajun, no
supplies of new military equipment to the Belarusian Armed Forces were reported in January. However, the Armed Forces actually did receive some new vehicles.

Reconnaissance and special units of the Western Operational Command received Russian TAYGA PATRUL 551 SWT snowmobiles, but their number wasn’t mentioned. Also, the UAV detachments of the 6th and 11th Mechanized Brigades received new simulators for the training of multirotor UAV and FPV drone operators.

In addition, it became known what other equipment the Belarusian Armed Forces would receive in the future:

• Krasukha-S4 EW system. Its supply is expected in the second half of 2024 and, probably, the new EW system will enter service with the 48th Separate EW Battalion (military unit 97061) located in Brest.

• DJI Mavic 3. Units of the Western Operational Command are to receive a new batch of UAVs.

• Su-30SM fighters. They were supposed to be delivered la...

Intensification of cooperation between PMC Wagner and the Belarusian Armed Forces: activity of the mercenaries in January

As of today, we can state that the significance of PMC Wagner as a destabilizing factor has almost disappeared. As of February 1, we estimate the number of Wagner mercenaries in Belarus at several hundred people.

The mercenaries, as before, conduct systematic training with the Internal Troops. Belarusian Hajun sees a certain intensification of cooperation between PMC Wagner and the Belarusian Armed Forces.

In January, PMC Wagner conducted training in:

• Minsk. The 6th set of training course for special purpose units under the leadership of PMC Wagner started at the Valoushchyna training center of the Internal Troops.

• Akolitsa. The mercenaries conducted special tactical training with the Tornado special purpose detachment in the vicinity of Akolitsa village, military unit 3310.

• Baranavichy. Wagner mercenaries conducted ...

RT @RALee85: The big questions now are how costly the withdrawal will be, and the quality of the next defensive line. Several sources have noted the lack of a well-prepared defense-in-depth outside of Avdiivka, and Russia has reserves, which it will likely commit for exploitation. https://twitter.com/RALee85/status/1758644944154038293#m
