New update on one of the never-ending stories.
My take: Time will tell what actually happens to the Chabanenko.

@auonsson: How I deal with claims and statements in the naval war, but goes for other situations too

Uncertainty is almost always present, the trick is how one deals with it. Nuances, caveats and wording matters.
Everyone will get things wrong sometimes, that's in the nature of this game

As said previously, determining details is very difficult but the level of activity is and has been high recently compared to previous years of Burevestnik related activity.

I suspect there hasn't been an actual missile test yet.
Monitoring continues.

RT @selshevneren: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working on new rules to limit the use of Russian cars in Norway.

- Like Finland, Norway will introduce restrictions on the introduction and use of Russian-registered cars into Norway. We are now looking at how this is to be done, and will come back quickly with effective measures, writes State Secretary Eivind Vad Petersson.

RT @naalsio26: 15 September 2023
Near Russian-occupied Svatove, #Luhansk Oblast, #Ukraine

T-80B № 574 next to a Ural-4320 belonging to Russia's 237th Tank Regiment, 3rd Motorised Rifle Division, 20th CAA, Western MD.

The red star and 20th Combined Arms Army IFF marking on the T-80B imply that it is in operation by a unit within the 20th CAA. If correct, this would be the first T-80 spotted in operation within the 20th CAA.

Sentinel-1 SAR-imagery at 0511z this morning shows the Northern Fleet icebreaker Ilya Muromets alone and tracking south in the Western Barents Sea. Contact correlates with AIS info.

The Ilya Muromets is currently operating a bit further south, purpose unknown.

New Novaya Zemlya update:

Activity likely connected to the Burevestnik facilities at Pankovo continues. Ships appear to once again be in position for something, an aircraft was caught on Sentinel-2 today within the active NOTAM area.

RT @bradyafr: New satellite imagery of Crimea shows ongoing activity at drydock recently hit by Ukraine in Sevastopol.

A Russian landing ship and submarine were hit by the strike with photos from the ground showing heavy damage to both. twitter.com/i/web/status/170…

@auonsson: My approach to claims of damage to ships, regardless of who are making them:

Remain highly sceptical until there's good evidence that actual damage has been inflicted.

Statements do indicate an engagement or attack but evidence is needed for damage assessment.

Not uncommon for smaller Baltic Fleet warships to go to the White Sea for live firing exercises via inner waterways and the White Sea Canal.

Missed (or didn't catch) the Serpukhov going north this time though.

RT @GuyPlopsky: 1/The Russian MoD released footage of Naval Aviation MiG-31BMs launching R-33 long-range air-to-air missiles (AAMs) against mock targets (missiles) as part of the Pacific Fleet's "Finval 2023" exercise. Such footage is quite rate. The two MiGs took off from Anadyr Ugolny Airport.
