There has not been any major change on the Robotyne frontline the last 10 days. It would seem RU have succeeded in slowing down UA progress by moving and engaging the 76th VDv division to Zaporizhzhia. It's not unlikely we are will see a period with more focus on attrition.

266-71. Andriivka western approach.
After capturing the former reservoir seen on the right in tweet 264-65, 2nd Mech Batt, 3rd Assault Bde troops use it as cover to fire RPGs from 48.499398, 37.950940. It gives them a slight angle on the treeline ahead.
Note the south end of the other treeline ahead at 48.498487, 37.956159. It will helps us locate tweet 267-8.
Film released 12/09/23.

The same is true on the Russian side. Russia committed some of its best VDV units to stabilize the Robotyne front, which are taking losses. Of course, it is easier to defend from strong positions with poorly-trained units than to assault.

The critical variable is still force availability. Kyiv began committing its reserves a month ago, and Russia committed its own in response. Unclear how much attrition both sides have sustained over the last month, but that will likely determine how far Ukraine can advance.

@PaulSmyth2015: Obviously, I had limited characters in the first tweet, but I think unit quality is quite important. Morale, unit cohesion, training, etc. are all very important.

Ammunition is also a key variable, and both affect how Ukraine fights, but I think attrition might be more important. Ukraine's recent gains on the Robotyne axis were likely in large part due to the quality of the 46th and 82nd brigades. Their attrition/condition is significant.

@NatSecNewsGuy @KofmanMichael: Yes, and we mentioned both in our article. They affect one another regarding how Ukraine fights. But I think the quality of the 46th and 82nd brigades has been critical to Ukraine's successes over the past month. So attrition from these brigades could be an issue.

@KofmanMichael: Yes, but I think attrition might be the deciding variable before ammunition runs low.
