A lot of people say "these are not tunnels, they are covered trenches". I consider those to be the same. These trenches are covered with logs and a thick layer of soil.

I also see arguments "they can be seen by thermal", I doubt it. But even if they can, that does not change the fact that they protect against artillery. The difference between an open trench and a covered trench is huge.

A BM-21 Grad was destroyed by artillery adjusted by a 'Sharks' drone (combat radius of 60km and a hover time of 4hrs).
I've since found out this is an old strike from 17/07/23.

@SamRamani2: The Storm Shadow, SCALP-EG missiles that Ukraine was given don't have a range of 550km, instead have a range of 250km to 300km and need to be launched further from the frontline. There are also a lot less of them than their are ATACMS, and they can only be launched from 10 planes
