@nukestrat @CXCarroll: Escalation management would be very hard in any such a scenario.
I don't see how it could be contained geographically, as the Russians likely would do something iot protect Northern- and Pacific Fleet strategic assets.
The distinction between a coalition of the willing (more likely than NATO consensus) and NATO would also probably seem academic from Moscow afterwards.
