OTD in 2014: Russian forces shot down a Ukrainian Ilyushin Il-76MD transport plane while it approached the Luhansk International Airport in eastern Ukraine, killing 9 crew-members and 40 paratroopers from the 25nd Airborne Brigade that were on board.

Satellite photos show that Russia transferred 20 helicopters to the Berdyansk airport at some point between May 31 and June 13, bringing the total to 27. @cxemu counted 5 Ka-52, 9 Mi-8 or Mi-24, and 13 Ka-29 helicopters.
