An AR is an Assault Rifle.
Like in FN SCAR where the AR stands for Assault Rifle.
Or like in AR-M9F where AR stands for Assault Rifle.
It does not stand for Assault Rifle in AR-15, it means ArmaLite Rifle.

In this case, I refer to is as AR as in Assault Rifle or AR-M9F
