@J_JHelin 16th or 17th May based on press releases and interviews with the commanders. This is the some point where they dismounted and by shell damage a little earlier. They maybe worked up the woodland first from the west before the armour came in from the north.

24th Assault Battalion 'Aidar' attack south along a treeline. A🇷🇺position at 48.550923, 37.922096 is already devastated and UAF now fire on 48.549898, 37.922556. UAF have since taken this treeline and reached the area where the vehicle is shelled.

@centaurblossom @auditor_ya I think these actions were initially aimed at removing the canal bridgehead and gaining more long-term defensible land on both flanks of Bakhmut. They also drew RuAF forces from elsewhere. I think UAF's main effort won't be here but there are certain opportunities in the area!

Kherson would mean they need to cross the river by boat and continue to do so since their bridges would get destroyed. It’s nearly impossible at this point
