Plenty of criticism from Wagner-linked accounts of the retreats by Russian MoD units. Of course, poor MoD-Wagner coordination is one reason why a counterattack in the Bakhmut area makes sense. 2/

@krishansonRCF Interesting, thanks for sharing.

Google Earth didn't provide the date for this imagery so judging by vegetation I've stated it's summer (should've add "presumably" though)

Girkin earlier predicted that Ukraine's main effort would be in Zaporizhzhia with secondary efforts in Kherson and maybe Donetsk. He says MoD units sent to defend Bakhmut's flanks were only equipped to man rear area checkpoints.3/

Buk SAM imagery might actually be late April 2022.

Google Earth didn't provide the date so judging by vegetation I've stated it's summer, and it appears that I made a mistake.

@krishansonRCF:
@Archer83Able Figured out the date of the Kherson image. (Same image as the Buk SAM system one you shared)

Matches these Maxar images previously posted, so April 25th, 2022.

Impressed how well Google cleans these up before uploading them. https://t.co/4Z3kNaZWzo

@SashoTodorov1 Both are to blame. A defensive strategy would have been better, and I think the MoD responded to Prigozhin's criticisms by hindering Wagner's efforts. Almost as if unity of command is important in military operations.

How do you set the conditions right to achieve suprise for an offensive that has been anticipated and talked about, in public, for months?

I won't provide an answer to this question, it's just something to keep in mind.

@PawelCharzewski I think both yes and no.

@AyazK100 @PhilK186 And that is why they brought the BREM?

Do not believe it until denied by the kremlin

RT @Veteransforukr1: VAU-drone destroys a RU MBT with a hand grenade.

VAU have delivered 50+ commercial drones, and 100+ kamikaze drones so far. All thanked to your donations!

Every dollar donated = more drones for the Ukrainian army.

If Russia allows political considerations to drive operations, it may decide to reinforce Bakhmut to prevent Ukraine from quickly recapturing its flanks, but that could leave its forces more vulnerable elsewhere where Ukraine has better prospects for achieving a breakthrough.

@RALee85:
The map from that same Russian/Wagner war correspondent shows additional gains made by Ukrainian forces to the NW and SW of the city today.
